Not sure how I know this, but this guy is based on the League's landlord when they were students. He would call up and that would be the conversation, "Hello Dave? Is that Dave, ok is Dave there?" He would only ever talk to Dave, the guy they lived with.

Bit of League based trivia there.

@OllieW501 And the landlord's name was Mr. Papalazarou! But I think the set-up was slightly different to how you describe it - it's based on when Reece and Steve lived together - the landlord would refuse to speak to Reece and even when Reece insisted that Steve was out, offering himself as an alternative to talk bills with etc, Mr. Papalazarou would continue with 'Hello Steve?', just ignoring Reece. This became 'Hello Dave?'. Ugh now I feel like a pedantic loser for typing all that out.

@silvershields I wouldn't say the "scariest thing ever!!". Have you watched the entire series (1,2,3)? It is a work of genius. I know what you mean about Papa Lazarou. When he is lying on the bed in I think late series 2 or early 3 (can't quite remember) that is excellent horror ( without gore). Subtle. He speaks with the voice of the old lady who co-ran the charity shop with another old lady. Classic!
