This is what I struggle with, for a plenty of reasons. People told me that it's not true what I think but I can't say otherwise because of my experience. I do believe that God loves me and that the only reason I am saved is because He took me from my rebellion and made me His but this fear of being nothing just keeps coming. If I was brutally honest about myself I'd have nothing good to say. And I'm thinking, what good will I be for God? :,(

There's whole books written on preaching to yourself. It's not a kooky thing haha. And yes, it works: it reminds us of God's promises even when we're tempted to forget!
