He stood in the way of the west's continued exploitation of Congo, and for this they allowed for him to be killed. I look at the Rwandan genocide now, and at the ongoing unrest, and wonder if he could have stopped it from happening. His life was probably not the only one taken when he died.

@Nazadanze I think it was too early to dismiss Africa to independence. How should an inexperienced politician, like Lumumba, a large country like the Congo govern? I have nothing against Lumumba, but I think he was overwhelmed with the policy. Huphout Boigny, the president of Ivory Coast, an experienced politician, had said he had not wanted to lead his country to independence so early. Lumumba wanted to get the Russians to help where he was for the people even as undesirable. That was dangerous

Mobutu was appointed the Prime Minister of the Congo with the help of his paided up crooked Western bosses in Washington, London, Paris, Brussels and Zurich.

You write mishmash. Congo people prefer the West, who brought the people civilisation.. We like to be and live in freedom. It is misleading to assert that the Western people are bad people than the Soviets or Chinese. This is typical Negroes, to be ungrateful. Mobutu was not of the West dropped but he was deathly ill. They had advised him to hand over the presidency but who should be the successor?
