I knew this wasn't a bad fever dream from the time I had walking Pneumonia as a kid. Youtube..for those of us who feel the need to prove to the youth of America that all children's entertainment in the 70's and 80's was thought up by acid freaks.
A little trivia: This show was originally going to be a animated adaption of Doctor Who. Unfortunately, BBC refused to grant Hanna-Barbera rights to the series. So they turned it into this mess.
1980. Looks like there were plenty of stinkers as well as goodens in the 80s.
Not as bad as the naughtys and the tenths where there has only been crap ones other than the comedy based ones and even those are falling in quality.
I must get my fix of cartoons even now though so I'm sticking with the comedy ones including Simpsons within them as even one new Simpsons is better than an entire Ben 10 series.
Think about it: Fonzie's time traveling prevented Chuck Cunningam from ever being born. That's why no one remembers him or acknowledges his existance in the live action series.
The FCC should have some kind of law against talking dog mascots. (Not lead characters or sidekicks, but Slimer-style mascots.) And yes, that includes Scrappy Doo and not Scooby.
@andyjay729 Nah, they think boobs and swearing is more offensive than talking dog mascots and Sara Jessica Parker's face (remember what Peter Griffin said on the episode of Family Guy where Peter starts his own TV channel filled with uncensored shows).
@SuperCartiel But Happy Days was already dead at this point. It would be the equivalent of someone making a cheesy Saturday Morning version of The Simpsons.
@landrykkb Simple: just change it so that way they are friends in school (middle or elementary) and tone down the wacky, sexual hijinks to things that 6th to 8th graders would go through (or supposedly go through according to Hollywood writers and executives who are out of touch with reality).
@LT1HILLINGHOE I thought Potsie would have been a welcome addition to this, considering he was goofy and all.it's possible that Anson Willliams either wanted nothing to do with it or was unavailable.
@LT1HILLINGHOE Sorry for the thumbs down,I was thinking of Rowf The Mouth,He wasnt in this cartoon either...Rowf The Mouth wasnt in this cartoon because he was problably too busy VOICE CASTING ->The Cavalier in the classic DUNGEONS & DRAGONS CARTOON. Now thats 1 cartoon that _DIDNT SUCK BACK IN 1980-1990's!_Especially since the voice cast also included Cullen, the guy voiceing G1 Optinus Prime
@LT1HILLINGHOE Yor right,Rowf Mouth was in this cartoon,Does anybody even still have this cartoon recorded on VHS to ->**UPLOAD THE WHOLE SEASON HAPPY DAYS GANG ON YOUTUBE? The only 2 other cartoons I remember watching on saturdays was PANDAMONIUM (and yes, that was even worse than Happy Days gang!) but those 3 pandas did have thier best moments >;-3 )p for a 3 stooges reject-2nd cartoon was DUNGEONS & DRAGONS which was lot better, had PETER CULLEN AS *VENGER*
Actually, what really happened was Hanna-Barbera wanted to originally make an animated Doctor Who Cartoon (since from the 70s, all the Sat. morning producers kept vying the BBC for permission) but the talks failed, and as usual, the network (ABC) decided on using the Fonz and the Gang. Because if you look at the inside of the 'Time Machine' it does have sort of a TARDISesque like atmosphere to it. Not to mention the 'lost in time' theme going on.
I heard that they had orginally planned on making a Fonz cartoon but didn't know what he would be doing. When they asked Henry Winkler he said he would only take part if the show was in some way educational for kids. So they came up with the time traveling idea in hopes that children would get interested in history.
I remember it being weird that they decided to make The Fonz still look about 40 while he was hitting on a teenage girl. They had an excuse on the live show, but here?!?
@thatguysreviews Whats even funnier is the Henry Winkler "JUMPED THE SHARK,...TWICE!" Henry jumped over a shark that had been caught on the docks in a show many years later =)p Not often U see an actor or actress make fun of thier Classic character in todays Low Quality productions
this sounds so much like a family guy parody sequence I can't believe it..
"and.... a future chick name-a Cupcake!"
I love it when the time machine is just shooting ahead a few hundred feet in space, and apparently traveling a little bit forward in time at the same time, because of how long it takes to reappear.. also Cupcake is hot.
@KairuHakubi "this sounds so much like a family guy parody sequence I can't believe it.." Yes, but I can also picture Saturday Night Live doing this as either a live-action sketch or as part of their TV Funhouse cartoon series (TV Funhouse also did a parody of the Harlem Globetrotters cartoon where the Globetrotters play basketball against Jesus, Mary, and Joseph).
when i heard abou this i started to laugh i just dont think these characters traveling in time would be a good idea..... then again i havent watched the actual show but it dosent sound too good
As a spinoff of a TV series portraying life from mid-50's to mid-60's featuring TIME TRAVEL, I refuse to believe this show could possibly be anything other than embarassing to watch.
Yes, and don't forget Marion, Howard, Arnold, Al, Chachi, Joanie, Pinky, Leather, Lori Beth, Roger, Jenny Piccalo, Officer Kirk, and all of Fonzies girlfriend. Lets get as many people into that damn time machine as possible. It just can't be a Saturday morning kids cartoon without them!!
@gurglelord When did The FONZ get a dog? What episode of Happy Days or Happy Days Again (Where Al was replaced with that Chineze guy) I saw reruns of these shows, but missed when Fonzie got a dog-Upload the episode of when Fonzie firstgot his dog, =) Anyone watching this horrible cartoon recognize Mr.Cools voice as The GO-BOTS CARTOON as Scooter,He was the voice of JOHNY 5 from both SHORT CIRCUIT movies& as Slimer from The GHOSTBUSTERS CARTOON,then later on TRANSFORMERS BEAST WARS as Waspinator?
@OLDSCHOOLHHSEX Ok. Let me tell ya something. The Fonz used to have I think it was a small, brown dog named Spunky in one episode. I remember that Spunkie wasn't feeling well and Fonzie was doing everything he knew how to do to cheer him up. I can't remember the episode name and I can't upload it onto YouTube because it's not on my DVR anymore. And Al wasn't replaced by Arnold, (The Chinese guy) Arnold was replaced by Al later in the show. But you should check to see if that episode is on here.
@LT1HILLINGHOE *Snaps fingers* Oh yeah! You're right. I remember seeing a christmas special from the end of the series with Arnold back instead of Al. I stopped watching before it got to that point in order. I watched it on the Hub. But I still love that show! Now back to the present... What is this anyway? This is an incredibly uncanon knockoff! Why was this even made? And time travel? How unfitting...
@ibookflippa1 yah If i had a time machine i would go to the year 40,000.(yes people that far) just to see how advance human life is. if there is any left. where cancer is as threatening as a sneeze and people are carbon based life forms.

@Smartboy8877 I don't know if you ever watched this show but there really wasn't any need for additional characters. Ritchie and Ralph became a pretty good comic duo. so the diner was a time-machine
randomlaughingman 1 year ago
@randomlaughingman no-Time machine landed in front of the diner, and only the TIME MACHINE left,The diner remained behind-If U watch all other time machine movies-Especially BACK TO THE FUTURE or another time machine was same size as that famous Delorean:The prop used in the Movie THE TIME MACHINE was big as a car. All the Time machines Ah saw in movies, and Doctor Who TV shows NEVER was as big as a whole Diner>=)p Sh-*t, U want 1 that big, intergrate that timetravel circuitry into a HOTEL
