When I was a kid, I didn't notice what a horrible actor the person who plays Melora was. But her singing voice is nice. And she's pretty. I guess that was enough to get the part.

This was one of those wonderful things that adults could laugh at as much as the kids enjoyed it.

The reason so many people leaving comments remember this innocent program from its airing in the early 70s is because it wasn't cynical, snarky, snide, "sophisticated" (a word that's lost its meaning anyway).

I feel so sorry for kids today. I can't imagine what they are going to look back fondly on 30 years from now.
