This car is by no means slow, it did 0-60 in about 6 to 7 secs. For your car to do the same, the revs have to be screaming, the point of the Bentley is to achieve those numbers effortlessly and quietly.

The reason why it only revs to 4,500rpm is because there is so much torque low down in the rev range that there is no need for the engine to rev higher. If it was allowed to rev like a normal petrol (about 6,500-7,000rpm), the torque and power would chew the engine to pieces.

well, I can't exactly remember the reason why it doesn't need to go any higher rpm but I think if I remember correctly it would spoil the ride (uncomfortable) and also it's a 6.75 litre engine, (not an american engine though, as great as they are, they usually don't have the same efficiency and power as a german one etc) mind you, at this price it's no wonder
