I recently had some surgery done and had to have 8 stitches to close the wound. After watching this video, I appreciate my doctor's skills even more. I don't think I'd be able to do that (hands are not very steady).
@gap12jazz no they're not very noticeable at all. You'd have to look closely. Also, they left without a trace but I still have a scar but it's not that bad it's basically a small line.
I had excision of my right neck mass about six weeks ago. After effects of this operation, which I still have, are 1: I can't talk loud. My voice is very low. If I try to speak loud it sounds like vibration. Pich of my sound is really low. 2: My right eye looks smaller than other & it shows redness. 3: my lower lip goes to the left side when I smile. 4: Right side of my tongue looked so weak but now it has recovered.
Most of my concern is my voice. I hope it will come back...
Yes. I got my voice back. It took me like six months till I got my voice back. There's no improvement till six months. One day I got sick. I vomitted badly, my body was all hot & reddish. I was having problem even in breathing (it lasted for 1-2 hours, also I had loose motions) then I vomitted & after that I went to doctor. He gave me some serop, medicine & after that by the grace of Almighty, within couple of weeks my voice was fully back.
@jaroncreed In all that time, I couldn't eat any spicy or sitrous stuff, espeically when I start eating food. But this problem is getting small by the passage of time. Now only few times it happens. Still my right neck, cheeck is sensitive when I touch it or when I shave. Now I can drink any liquid fast ( don't have to drink in sips like before as I started cuffing). My lungs are all cleaned up now, I guess that vomitting & medicine also helped. God is great.
@SpankyBurrito An enlarged lymph node is just a symptom. Gotta examine the lymph node to know for sure what's wrong with it. Unfortunately one of the possibilities when diagnosing is cancer... x_x So I guess it's just a better safe than sorry thing.
how he's presented this is very odd, so much detail and step by step guidance, it's like a how to manual, i bet some idiot has tried to save some money and tried this themselves, clicking pause play as he goes along. it's fascinating to watch though
Impressive. I'm honestly amazed that such thin, delicate materials like the dermis and that thin muscle layer can be separately repaired by a human hand with such precision and speed. It's like trying to thread 100 needles in a row with each eye a few nanometers off alignment. You'd think it's impossible to do, but this guy makes it look so effortless... Doctor or not, that's quite a feat.
That was actually a testicle that lodged in her throat 20 years ago. It eventually migrated south and turned septic.( BAD peepee breath) So surgery was the only option.
Wow! This Dr. has an amazing gift to be able to create such an easy to understand teaching tool. Heck - I feel like I could perform this surgery now! My suturing would be nowhere near as perfect as his. What hospital is he at? Wish he'd been the surgeon for my last op. I wouldn't have such an ugly scar!!!
I LOVED how it was done close up!! I hate it when there is poor picture quality. Also that suture line is beautiful!!! I had surgery on my arm and at first the suture was straight and slim like that but my body doesn't absorb those "dissolving stitches" so my inscision site opened back up to expell thejm. It sucked!
@pwnapoluzastudios is there bad side effect? i just did this operation this morning, and it hurts now. i'm scared reading one of the comment saying he lost his voice and some weird muscle pull on his neck :(
@radziahradzi No, just be careful how you bend your neck, just keep your neck relaxed and is you start to feel a pulling of tugging feeling in the incision relax your neck, otherwise it should heal right up, the worst part for me was getting my stitches out to be honest.
@pwnapoluzastudios thanks for your reply. I feel much better today (it's morning here, just wake up). last night i was really in pain and get worried but I took the painkiller given. I will take your advice to take care of the neck and don't bend it too much. As for the stitches, now they have the self-absorbed thread, so the nurse said the thread will be absorbed into the skin and no need to be taken out, so - phew!
Im going to do this exactly operation tomorrow in Sweden. It will take 1 hour and I am right now a bit scared! I mean imagine to see your own operation on youtube the day before.
Great video. Your skills are awesome. The commentary as you went along was so very helpful. So glad to be living in this day and age when we have such impressive medicine and doctors and surgeons.
Dr. Soh, You are the bomb! What an excellent and interesting video. It had me captivated. Thanks for the guidance as you went along, the information was so perfectly detailed. I had no questions when you were done.
Outstanding. Awesome graphics. Very informative. I have had many tumors removed. This helps me understand the process. Why did the tumor need to come out? What problem was it causing?

@ro4eva how about the stitches after the surgery on your neck are they too visible and they would leave without a trace overtime?
