  • are they saying 'free slick rick' at the end?

  • @wildnout1000 they sure are!

  • Epic!

  • Heavy D DOES NOT look like Peter Griffin. Respect the innovators and architects. R.I.P. Heavy D and Trouble T-Roy.

  • "say what we wanna say, ...the RIGHT way"

  • R.I.P. Heavy D. You were definitely the reason I fell in love with Hip-Hop.

  • THIS IS SOOOO GENIOUS I'M ANGRY RIGHT NOW AND I DON'T KNOW WHY!!!

THIS REMINDS ME OF THE DAVE CHAPPELLE SEGMENT WHERE ARSENIO HALL TASTES SOME CHEESE AND HE'S TICKED OFF BECAUSE HE WAS THE ONLY ONE THAT DIDN'T KNOW WHY THE CHEESE TASTED SO GOOD, WHICH PROMPTED HIM TO TAKE HIS ANGER OUT ON SOMEBODY!!!!

THAT'S HOW I FEEL RIGHT NOW, THIS RECORD BEING SO GENIOUS AND ORIGINAL!!! LOL!!!!

  • ~R.I.P~ Hev...........

  • Kool G Rap, BDK, Puba, Tip .. word

  • Again this groove right here demonstrates that you can kick some bad ass lyrics w/o cussin'!

  • QTIP killed it

  • LOVE THIS TRACK!

  • Notice youngsters no N word, No Bitches or hoes were said but they still did their thang.

  • LOL @ Diddy carryin the "don't curse" sign

  • nice!

  • Boy, that didn't last long. ;)

  • Probably the best hip hop track ever produced .... great colaberation....how can you not get up and dance when ya got Big Daddy Kane and the Diddley Diddley Diddley Diddley Diddley D on a track. Damn I miss real hip hop, nit like this lame shit you hear today

  • SHITTTTTTTTTT!!! Hip HOp should had stayed only in New YORK.

  • @77musica Hip Hop if for every region

  • @DJBlack909 But look what happened to it. The caribbean communities in the NYC gave it the flava and kept it sane.

  • does any one know what movie he stared in it was an old one

  • LOL!!! BDK is still looks cool even with a cast on

  • "Don't Curse"-Produced By Pete Rock

  • New York is in the house!!!Love it!!!!

  • Dats da outfit dat ruined Big Daddy Kane's career.

  • thats the samethang ppl said when kane dances kane can wear a pink jump suite i bet his music still get played

  • what happened to big daddy kane?

how did this outfit ruin his career?

  • He did "Jump the Shark" after this video (lol)

  • true NEW YORK CITY HIP HOP!

  • My favorite verse's would have to be C.L. Smooth (my favorite emcee) and kool g rap. Yet its easily safe to say, this track is pure genius.

  • dammn. look how big daddy kane looks over towards the camera before he starts rapping in his purple pimp suit. his swagger through those tables is fuckin old school

  • funny because every rap artist included in this video cussed in one of their songs after this was made.

  • it wasn't about that ! it was about people saying that they couldn't rap without cursing ! so they did to shut everybody the fuck up ! plus you 4-got to listen 2 heavy-d at the last part . " if worse came to worse we'd have all said a curse " !

  • yeah, you're right

  • That sure is P-Diddy @ 1:11

  • i watched it, if it was him, which it did look like. he looked so funny walkin across the screen. like when the aliens walk across the screen in "signs"

  • Everybody on this song is legends in the game

  • Big Daddy Kane have the best part

  • This IS hip hop!!! Superman is not!!!

At 39 my son can listen to this and hear REAL rhyme skills from the Big Daddy Kane. Rap sounds like 1st grade today. No flow.

  • nothing but skils here love the old school artest best ever. today's artest suck

  • its so funny seeing diddy in this video playing the part as just anybody lol

and look where he is today

  • Rap as it was meant to be.... dont curse!

  • Classic! I haven't heard this in ages

  • I'm surprise nobody notice P Diddy walking by with a card at 1:11. hahah

  • these is a good song

  • A Classic! Remember the MTV rap days when this was on, fecking gold.

  • yaeh yeah ericb20 and gavume you no the score.I think these days it seams not meny new rappers got any stile any real flavaour no more, this is true hip hop no guns or b;;ch this b;;ch that one love to all you true hip hoppers

  • I agree with ericb20. Hip Hop can still be great and fun without the unecessary foul language and violence.

  • I was just thinking about this song/vid about 3 days ago. lol

  • Check Diddy holding the sign at the start. He used to be a dancer for the Heavster.

  • Heavy D one of my all time fav

  • Yeah!!! This is my joint!! When Hip_Hip was fun!!

  • Love it.

  • so creative!

  • LOL No swearing.

  • Is there something wrong with that. If your watching this video you probly no who all these people are so I wont criticise you.

  • I am not saying there is anything wrong with this song Infact I love it ofcourse when I wrote that coment some time ago and I was *and still am* dissalousioned buy a Rap song with no swearing I not saying rap sucks or anything well new rap sucks crap but its just shocking hearing a rap song that does not involve Rappers talking about bitchs and ho's and shooting people and every same damn song.

  • Thats real boom-bap for you. A real Mc is a Lyrisist, and dosent need to rhyme about "bitches and hoes". Real hip-hop is dying and its taking the ability to shoot the gif with it. Hip-pop is rediculous and is horrible indeed.

  • Agreed one of the best coments on Rap that I have read.

  • Thank you. And If your not into Hip-hop right no I'd say your on the right track to get into it if your watching this video.

  • Thanks for the coment back yeah I hate New Hip Hop and Rap god it makes me cry the way rap is today they say they that Gangsta rap is the best. No way in hell it isn't it will be the truth of what I put down that Gangsta Rap has killed Rap music for ever.

  • Thats true. Hiphop is the "in" thing right now. Its on the pop radio stations, and on mtv and everywhere else. Ignorant people see that and want to mimic it to be "cool". Its sad that these people dont even know what real hip-hop is. To know what real hip-hop is you have to know what to look for.

  • So If your really interested in hip-hop I'd suggest you listen to Brand Nubian, A tribe called quest, Heavy d, MF Doom, Grand Puba, Big Daddy Kane, Diamond D, Slick rick and Doug E. Fresh, Kool G Rap, Eric B and Rakim, Public Enemy. The list goes on and on, If you listen to the ones previously listed, Im sure you will stumble apon more. Thanks for the Reply, and dont be discouraged from hiphop because of crappy radio raping rappers.

  • I know Public Enemy kicks ass atleast they have something to say and there songs are not to bad either I love Fight the Power and Turn it Up with Anthrax it was awsome

  • Haha Yeah dude Public Enemy is the shit.

  • Agreed Public Enemy is the best.

  • Agreed and ofcourse those idiots have to chose the most offensive stuff I mean belive it or not Media but there is some rap today that is actually positve and the old stuff too like Run DMC they where awsome and positive they where Awesitive best of both worlds.

  • Oh there is deffinitly positive hip-hop and good stuff around today, like MF Doom, Talib Kweli, Common ect.

  • And ofcourse with media with rap and they only chose gangsta wihch feeds the stereo type.

  • Word up, its all ignorance and fads.

  • Agreed damn fine coment If I say so myself.

  • =] Thanks

  • No Probs.

  • thanks for posting this. i vaguely remember hearing this as a kid. I love q-tip's verse.
