  • That's the point. You have to have a combination of growth factors along with the focused injection of stem cells to the site.

  • you don't need all this scientific hocus pocus. just pray to lordy lordy in the sky somewhere (well, in the sky till someone pointed a telescope upwards) and everyone gets healed. right?

  • It does say "imaging".

The protein folds segment reminds me of a project at the moment that states that gamers are better at solving protein folds. Check out ww w. fold. it

  • QDRAGON ROCKS!!!

  • i thought illinois was pronounced with a silent s

  • Wow!

    Humanity is Gnarly!

  • So was time and resources wasted on researching new avenues of stem cell extraction solely because of religious fanatics having issues with blobs of cells that don't even have a a single neuron being extracted or is this an actual breakthrough even if all these fanatics were to suddenly disappear?

  • @neurel111 i would say yes, because while embryonic stem cells have a lot of potential they generally aren't soured from patients

whereas someone who saved their cord blood could end up with a genetically identical source of stem cells, which is ideal

  • @neurel111 All strife leads to advancement. But your right, this may have been discovered much sooner if we didn't have idiots who don't know thing 1 about science, or even the world they live in, lobbying a government, that is equally as retarded.

  • @neurel111 We NEED research like this. Screw the religious freaks that would say no to children with spinal problems that can be fixed with research like this. Screw them!

  • Knowledge is never unethical. How that knowledge is acquired can be unethical, and how that knowledge is used can be unethical. The knowledge is simply a fact about the universe which is already true, regardless of if anyone discovers or knows it.

And having it is always better than not having it.

  • The OBJECTIONS to stem cell research are unethical, not the research itself.
