  • She's cute and her talant really shines in this song.

  • The extra talented Neil and Howard also wrote Where the Boys Are to Connie's privileged voice. Neil Sedaka is the finest living American composer... and still working! He is one of these blessings USA didn't quite understand. Long live (and healthy) to beloved Neil!

  • y en aquella época no se hacían vídeos porque solo fotos

  • Who wrote this song? I have always assumed it was Neil Sedaka, but I don't actually know.

  • @LittleMonster13100 Sedaka wrote the music and Howard Greenfield the lyrics.

  • @Nocaro Oh okay. Thanks for that :)

  • Man, what a crush I have had on Connie for ages!

  • does anyone even know who did it originally?

  • @Dashai2 Connie Francis was the first to record this Neil Sedaka/Howard Greenfield tune.

  • I thought that I didn't like much old fashion music, but I heard about this lady and I listened to this song. I LOVE IT!

  • She has the voice of an angel

  • i like the origanal stuff like jerry lee lewis

  • I loved listenin 2 my Mum's old LP's n dancing around with her. Was brought up on CF, Brenda Lee, Patsy Cline etc. Aww mum I miss those days, R.I.P xx

  • Connie Francis will always be remembered for her fabulous music and voice. I won the Idle with her song "Where the boys Are"

  • Connie Francis was the best. I also loved her movies. She was the best. Miss her lots.

  • @ meehall121 You shared me this beautiful song that I truly enjoy. thank you so much.

  • connie f was raped in her hotel room..

  • @bluegreen988 She won the first $1 million dollar settlement for it from Howard Johnsons.

  • wish i was back then in my age.

  • sognavamo con un ackerlo(niente) voi ora non sognate manco co la "merce"

  • che balli che struciate nelle cantine....da brividi

  • Ya, I know ... everyone hates to hear about "our" (their) good old days - but there is something to be said for the music from this era. The Hippe era / culture changed things, and the Viet Nam war shifted our moods. A new music came about because of those two changes.

Do a youtube search on viet nam era music ... listen - watch - tell me that it would change you too. Remember, Viet Nam was a political war - nearly 58,000 Americans were killed - some 500,000 wounded, and many left with ?????

  • The girl next door looks and sound will always be popular.

  • hahaha She looks kinda like Mandy Moore, ironic XD I like this version for the most part but there are some parts that other singers do better

  • Hahaaaa Those tipsy angels min 1.00 !!! GREAT SONG !

  • It is quite an honor to be bitten by the Angel of Lust.

  • One of Connie's best.

  • I love the way her voice gets too high with "cupid"...What a lovely singer !

  • @TheKristobald at this connie had the best pipes in the business.

  • Aah close your eyes and you can smell the leaded exhaust from the huge engined American Automobiles from this era! There was no such thing as global warming, lead poisoning, health and safety, child molesters, and so on. Those were the days.

  • I only knew Many Moore's cover and loved it. But Connie Francis's version conveys sooo much more personality!! I really find it to be much, much better.

  • @Meilinoa I've never heard of MANY MOORE.

  • My sister Annie got me singing Her music. I sing it for her

  • What a classy girl !

  • I don't know where I've heard this song but I heard it before I never knew it was an oldie and definitely not by Connie Francis. Glad I found it though. ^_^

  • Mama always told me off about the music I listened too.So I thought I'd give her music a try...now I'm hooked!Mama knows best?lol

  • It so lovely!!

  • 1958 ... bettr dan 2011 :P :P

  • just listened to the wanda jackson version...... ugghhhh yeah Connie Francis owns

  • @titcdrum Of course, my point to some other people about this was that there have been many fine covers of original songs including this one and Wanda Jackson's is great, but there should be no question about who "owns" this song.

  • @Nocaro I agree. Connie owns this one! She has much more projecton, and her vocals are superior to Wandas'. Connie wins hands down!

  • @dziner Agreed! This will always be Connies song!

  • @titcdrum Yes Connie was the best

  • You cannot compare this version to Wanda's - W.Jackson can't sing - her style is too country and ..well, actually you could call it anti-style - Connie sings it perfect - and the background music and vocals are awesome - a true light 60's song, just as good as Lipstick on your collar.. I really don't think that the other version is in any way better - just as all Wanda's songs - I also don't like that Let's Have a party.. Hearing her voice makes me want to turn the volume down

  • I vastly prefer Connie's version, great stuff!

  • @HopiRaven

personally she sang it great ..but i also love hearing the genius and writer neil sedaka sing this song. he was one of my idols

  • Stupid Cupid your way off target grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

  • she was really pretty in the first picture

  • Comment removed

  • @33321121 Since when did Neil Sedaka, the composer, become Brazilian?

  • Cupid Disliked this video

  • Em poetugues estupido cupido

  • Great, takes me back to my youth

  • The brazilian portuguese version of this song was very successful here.

  • Ideologia norte-americana de lavagem cerebral.

  • By far the best version of this song!

  • I love you....so....

  • Wanda Jackson is awesome, but I'll always associate this song with the Connie Francis version.

  • Enough already! I always loved this song, my sister and I both own a copy of this record. It's a well-known hit. I agree with boltstrike8, it IS the original!

  • what a babe!!! Connie Francis was the complete package, sing, dance, act and looks.a fellow newarker,[nj], like myself,i'm proud to have her as a representative. nice "video" and thank you so much for the memories and the fun. Tom D

  • Charming Cupid Love Arrows.

    Connie Francis.

  • My God !!! Me bailan las células, las hormonas todooooooooooo.- 12 años tenía y era re-buena para rokanrolear.- !Wahta a beatiful song, really, awesome !!! yeah, yeah !!!

  • great boppy tune love it,makes ya wanna dance, 'THANK'S NOCARO'

  • My Mum said she used to dance with her Dad to this and I'm 46.....

  • @boltstrike8 LOL, How can Wanda Jackson "own" a song that was written for and made a hit by Connie Francis?...explain that to me.

  • @Nocaro I'm sure many ppl like yourself love her version but in my opinion Wanda Jackson is the only reason why I LOVE this song. Enough said...

  • @boltstrike8 Well, I don't necessarily "love" her version, but it was the ORIGINAL hit version of the tune and she went on to work well with Neil Sedaka on some other songs including "Where The Boys Are". My channel includes lots of covers of original hits so I'm not discounting Wanda's version in any way, shape or form except in the sense that when people think first of "Stupid Cupid", this is recording they are thinking about.

  • @Nocaro Well, you're probably right but that wasn't my point. I don't mean to discredit Francis either I just know that I really got moved by this song when I heard Jackson's version. Just a preference...

And since I heard Wanda's version of the song first, I relate it to her not Connie. That's all:)

  • @boltstrike8 Wanda who?

  • @zeke1312 Wanda Jackson: One of the first popular female rockabilly singers and a pioneering rock and roll artists. She is known to many as the Queen (or First Lady) of Rockabilly.

And btw, at the age of 73 she is still touring.

  • @Nocaro You do realize that here, "owned" is used to depict that she did the song best. Right?

  • @narutoandhinata4eva9 Actually it means even more than that...it implies that whatever recording involved is most closely associated with that particular artist, and in this instance there is no doubt...Connie Francis OWNS this song.

  • @Nocaro While I think both versions are great, I also prefer Wanda Jackson's version. For me, it has more energy and passion. Also, the clapping and background voices sound dated today, whereas Wanda's version has aged much less noticeably.

  • @Nocaro nah man you don't understand what the word "owned" has come to mean. what he was saying is that the other person's version was better, it has nothing to do with association or ownership.. language evolution on the internet dude, moves fast

  • @itsumonihon If you asked 10 million people who sings "Stupid Cupid", 99.9% of them would say Connie Francis. If that isn't "owning" a song, nothing is. If you want to use the word "own" as your personal way of saying you prefer another version, that's up to you, but the word "OWN" implied ASSOCIATION 50 years ago and still does today.

  • @Nocaro Well, first off, it wasn't writte by her, it was written by Howard Greenfield and Neil Sedaka, so yeah. Also, few people truly fully "owns" a song, they usually get help from someone to a certain degree, and no matter what they all have their influences.

Besides, Francis is Pop, Wanda is Rockabilly, why do people even compare them so much? Very different genres.

  • @TheDJGrandPa The word "own" is used metaphorically in this context to say which artist is most closely associated with a certain song, and not who may have in someone's opinion sung it best. I credit in my notes attached to each post who has written the song in most cases, but if anyone "owns" the song "Stupid Cupid" it's Connnie Francis in this context.

  • @Nocaro Well, that only tells ya who's version is more well-known and popular, which doesn't mean a squat to me. Yes, everyone knows Connie's version and it's great. But Wanda's got that hoarse voice and powerful underground Rockabilly sound that I prefer. So who "owns" the song? Connie Francies, but that didn't mean shit right now to me. So it's pretty pointless to even argue about.

  • @TheDJGrandPa LOL, the only POINT to be made is how to define the word "own" in the context of singing a song, not whose version one might prefer which will always be a subjective topic.

  • @boltstrike8 I agree i prefer Wanda's version

  • @boltstrike8 i think Connie is better.

  • @turnyip It's all a matter of preference...:)

  • @boltstrike8 She is about 3 solar systems away from Connie version.. Wanda is not even a good singer. Listen to her inferior version and I will listen to the best version by Connie. You must be tone deaf!

  • Well this awesume song from the great Connie Francis didn't reach #1 by that time but after all these years this song is more well known than "Poor Little Fool" also don't forget Connie Francis as far as everybody know she never had connections with the italian maffia like Frank Sinatra did, just my 5 cents opinion

  • @VanLat7 But Connie and Sinatra did have one thing in common...neither got along with Mitch Miller, the head of Columbia Recording at the time. Sinatra was let go by Columbia and they wouldn't hire Connie.

  • @VanLat7 Mentioning Sinatra's connections is a void point seeing as how they never had anything to directly do with his success.

Allegations and Rumors run rampant, but, that's all they will remain. Allegations and Rumors, speculated by the public.

  • Good voice

  • so much better than the mandy moore cover

  • love her ..... sung along to her tracks all my life :) xXx

  • Love this song. The beat is great. A favorite of mine. Also wondering why it didn't go to number #1 on the charts.

  • 5*****

  • How this song had not made it to number 1 is beside me.

  • @emanuel319 A kid named Ricky Nelson got in her way with "Poor Little Fool".

  • @emanuel319 at least a million. It is a gold record for Connie.
