It helps the whole world, and the US most of all. I care about justice. I care about my country. That is what the best course of action is for the ideals I believe in. Staying in Iraq will accomplish nothing. Have you considered that? We have already lost. You want to waste more lives for nothing. What you are talking about as an option is a fantasy. A delusion.

You care about the world, the US, and justice. Good. I keep asking you about the Iraqi people. Do you care for them? Staying in Iraq may accomplish nothing, but it may accomplish something very important. Nobody can predict the future, but it seems to me the worst thing for the Iraqi people would be a sudden pull out by US forces. The vacuum left would be an invite for disaster on a scale we have yet to see and may not be able to imagine in that poor war torn country.

I mean people throwing out occupying armies. We have killed a half a million civilians in this war. Far more than the people you are complaining about. I am sick of hearing them referred to in terms that imply anyone who doesn't want us over there is a terrorist. You are in a civil war. Say that ten times before you go to bed tonight. It obviously hasn't sunk in. Our presence is making our own situation worse for no good reason.

When someone intentionally blows up a Mosque, a marketplace, a group of people standing in line to apply for a job...all with no military significance...what else can you call it? These are terrorist acts. The people performing these acts are terrorists. No way around it. Your numbers of war dead are the highest I've ever seen, and I've seen some exaggerated numbers before, care to back them up?

What I call it is a religious civil war. Religious wars usually result in the near extermination of one side. All of them, women and children included. Look at the Protestant and Catholic wars in Europe. Yes, we started this one. That is one of the war crimes I mentioned. We are powerless to stop it. We have broken the glass. You can't get the glass back. You can't undo the damage. Some bad things you do have permanent effects. Like scrambling a person in a car accident.

You are making the classic blunder of assigning meaning to senseless acts. Someone blows up a market full of people buying food for the day, there are Sunnis and Shias killed, police and school kids killed, there is screaming and crying...the murderer/bomber has blown himself up along with everyone else and doesn't explain himself, and you assign meaning to this act. How can you know what is in this man's heart when he commits this horrible crime?

Try reading what you just wrote. The guy killed himself. He was full of purpose. There definitely was a purpose. Are you telling me you don't know what his purpose was, or are you saying I am wrong that these bombings are part of a religious war? They are also going into each other's neighborhoods and shooting each other. The religious war is very clear.

I don't know what is going on in Iraq. That is why this video is of interest to me. You called what is going on there a civil war, and now a religious war. A turf war, or tribal war could be better ways to describe the reality there, I don't theology is at the heart of the problem. The media has done a terrible job reporting this war. The commentary, including yours, has been overly negative and not helpful, particularly the "all is lost" crowd.

I am glad I made the all is lost part clear. We haven't had a chance to discuss the war crimes much. Maybe later. You are right about the civil war, foreign war, religious war part of my commentary. The civil war is a religious war. The difference between Sunni and Shia is a question of legitimacy to the head of the religion. It was supposed to be inherited. Early on the two sects disputed who was in line to inherit the position. One of them killed the leader of the other before he had an heir.

Now they agree on nothing. The start of Ramadan is signified by the moon rising. If one group says they saw it, the other says it was too cloudy and they start the next day. It is like that with everything. Hussain kept them integrated. Check out how many militias are killing. Literally thousands a month in the integrated neighborhoods of the Baghdad area. It is a slaughter.

Your mind has been filled with propaganda, but I highly doubt that the General is the one giving it. Also, this would be our last throes before we pull out if some Democrats and Republicans get there way. You are right that any war with Iran would have heavy consequences and needs to be looked at very seriously and soberly, but let's not leave this place until we have a stable, U.S. friendly Nation.

We are all are playing into our Leader's hands. All they want is to stay in power, by making us hate each other and fight. Leaders love wars and nationalism and sectarianism. We believe their rhetoric which whips us into a frenzy and wars continue. Generation after miserable generation of humans fall for this.
