@conormacleod1987 hahaha,thanks...I had to listen to it again real close to hear it,lol. I'm not real sure,I had a cd of great blues masters on that day, only thing I know is they were tearing it up on slide guitar...maybe Johnny Winters or Ry Cooder,I'm not real sure.
I'm sorry for asking another question but I just checked on the info on the knives I was looking to buy it said both the detailer and the mini detailer were both maid out of edge holding steel! I'm 23 and love working with my hands but just trying to make sure I get good tools for the right job! Thanks so much for your time and experteace!
@ronaldbrashears haha,no problem. You have it when you say the right tool for the job ! My blades are suited best for Basswood and the like softer woods,I would rather have a thicker blade for harder woods. Carving is a timely art form therefore I choose Northern Basswood or I use a lot of green wood ; ) My blades hold an edge w/ a little stropping every now & then,I would not settle for anything less. Be sure to Google" Wood Carving Illustrated",great mag. & online forum to !
Great vid! Vongrats on your win! I'm a beginner I just bought my knives from flexcut but out if all them great whittlers what is there brand of knife? What's a good knife to use? Thanks
@ronaldbrashears Thanks for taking the time to comment, thats a tough question, lol.
Every carver has their own favorite brand I guess, the Flexcut's are good for the money. Since I make knives my answer might be a little bias- I like the ones I make (and have great feedback from customers). I would say the biggest thing is make sure it has hi-carbon steel,so you can maintain the edge easier.
I always tell folks it's not the knife, but the person behind the knife. Nothing beats practice.
Great video! Inspiration for us newer carvers.
Thanks
