  • Let's start a national campaign to bring this back. I had one with my dad in 86 when I was 8, and still remember eating about half of it. I have dreams that I am making this sometimes...That's it, I'm making my own!!!!

  • I miss the Priazzo...takes me back to 1985 thru 1987 or 88.

  • I grew up in Flint, Mi. I'm trying to figure out what markets it ran in because after leaving home and moving to the south I can't find anyone that's heard of it. I wrote PH a couple of years ago to recommend it. I did get a reply that it wasn't coming back. I don't think those non-stick pans would be an issue today. They were just coming out in the consumer market at that time and were expensive. I would say the same pan would cost a third today. They should have been using a good 'ol cas

  • I quit eating at Pizza Slut once they got rid of these. Three slices, and you were full! Put it in the fridge, it tasted even better the next day!

This pizzas demise and New Coke are proof positive that corporate America always thinks they know what the people want when they really don't.

  • I miss the F*** out of that PIZZA!!! I was great to be alive back then... I feel for anyone that has never had one of those. After that there was no other.

  • yeah great Chicago style pizza and it was great back in the day. I worked for PH when they rolled it out. the Telflon coating used on the pans and heat pins was crap and flaked off after the first use. very expensive to replace. there is one reason IT WILL NEVER come back and that is PH NOW only uses frozen dough disks. the Priazzo dough HAS to be made fresh. most PH's do not have a bog ol' Hobart dough mixes. just lots of freezer space for the cases of frozen dough

  • How did they manage to get a second layer of dough on the pan?

  • I loved this pizza as well.. I just emailed pizza hut and asked if they have ever thought of bringing it back. I'm sure i'll get some corporate mumbo jumbo response but i can't hurt to try.

  • @ValidVikes I tried the same thing years ago and they gave me some crap about it being a limited time product and that even though they have had strong responses then and strong requests now its time was still LIMITED. Then they gave me an apology and hoped that they were of service... BLAH, BLAH, BLAH!!!! Simply put they lost the receipe and can't do it again.

  • They need to bring this back!! I loved the Priazzo!!!!!

  • I loved the Priazzo as well as a kid. Why they discontinued it was the biggest mistake The Hut ever made.

  • @SellawEvets totally! best pizza ever (from pizza hut). the last thing i truly loved at pizza hut

    Seriously,

It was the best Pizza that Pizza Hut could ever made and sell. I thought that i was the only one thinking that this was the best pizza ever but It's good to know that there's alot of people out there thinking the same way. I remember the slice was pretty heavy with all the tomato sauce and meat that the pizza carried. So tasty!!!

  • Thought I was the only one. Guess I'm not crazy after all.

  • If my memory serves me correctly, they stopped making the pizza because the special pans cost alot to replace, not to mention the special packaged sausage used for the ingredients. I think the cold ingredients did not warm enough inside the dough and there were complaints, but the biggest thing is that it didn't sell like the regular pizza's did and they made more on basic pizzas like pepperoni with cheese. It was more time consuming to make too, but dang if it won't worth it!!! Go Priazzo!

  • I remember working at Pizza Hut in 85',86' and bringing home my first priazzo pizza! Anyway, I bring the pizza downstairs to the den to show it off and I opened the box and tilted it for everyone to see, and then it happened..........Flap! It fell upside down on the floor! But it was still in tact! You know what I did? I took it to the kitchen, I said "God Bless it" and commenced to eating that baby! LOL!

  • Oh Man! I loved that pizza as a kid! the whole family was hurt and frantic when they stopped making it! BRING IT BACK!!

  • My second job was a cook at Pizza Hut, and shortly after I started they introduced the Priazzo. I made lots of them.

  • I used to have a family I would babysit for and the best part about watching their kids is that the parents would order us one of those bad boys for our dinner every time I came over. I would have worked just for the free pizza, those were that delicious.

  • Oh man... yeah. Remember these from my childhood. They were fantastic. I've asked them about bringing them back, but you always get the general canned response. There are some recipies out there that try to clone them, but I don't know how successful they are. Guess you can buy the heatsinks they used to help get the pizza done in the middle.

  • Oh, who could forget those Priazzo pizzas? Those things were great. Wish they could bring it back.

  • Yeah, the Priazzo Florentine was my favorite. It was five cheese and spinach. The best fast-food veggie pizza ever made.

  • With a surge of inflation over the past decade and a half, this pie would be terribly expensive.

It's a shame, really. It was Pizza Hut's finest dish. A truly scrumptious achievement. This was one pie you didn't scarf down. You savored it.

  • I used to always get a Priazzo Portofino every other Saturday...my little bro had to beg me for a piece...this was back when Pizza Hut had the Flintstones glasses.

I have never had another pizza that even came close to it - I wish someone would bring it back!

  • Priazzo Roma was the high water mark of fast food/pizza. Shame it went away!

  • I miss that pizza. bring it back!!

  • I ate these pies when they came out. The flavor and texture of this pie was to die for. They were extremely good. The best pizza I've ever eaten.

  • I was just telling my Teenaged daughter's about priazzo! IT was the BEST!

  • great mmm

  • This was my favorite pizza at Pizza Hut. I wish they would bring it back, even if for a limited time. Thanks for posting!
