Definitely a lot of raw talent there, but if he was fighting guys his own size he wouldn't be getting away with half of the stuff he uses and that's the 100% truth whether Jones fans admit it or not. Shogun and dos Santos are roughly the same size in this video. Jones made Shogun look like a MW.

@facey55 MMA Math isn't reliable. I honestly think Machida has a better chance than Rashad. To beat Jones, you need someone with great TDD defense, has very quick foot movement, and is a great counterstriker who won't be distracted by Jones' flashy moves. Machida fits all of that. His ability to leap and cover distance is almost second to none in MMA. He's incredibly hard to take down. I'm not even sure if he's been taken down in the UFC. And his striking and defense is top-notch. Machida FTW!

Sh!t, Shogun's head movement is excellent. Not only his kicks, but his boxing is awesome too. I still it's a total toss up between him and Jon "Bones" Jones.
Obviously the technique and experiene hugely favors Shogun, but youth, strength, wrestling and size completely favors Bones.

@206sole Jones still has a way to go before he proves he's the best LHW of all time. If he can get past Rashad and Machida in absolutely dominate fashion, maybe I'll say he's the best. While beating Shogun in the fashion he did is impressive, one win over him does not negate the legacy fighters like Shogun, Wanderlei, and Liddell have created.

@AndyMcKeeFanForLife he already dominated rashad in sparring practice, look at it on youtube. I would like to see him fight machida, but after that theres no one else to prove himself to. I think he has to move up a class. jones fighting dos santos or velasquez would be more equal of a fight, but if that doesn't happen I don't see anyone beating him for a long long time.

@206sole sparring is just that "sparring" doesnt mean they were giving everything they had..not hatin though i mean im a jones fan but i believe hes gonna get taken by machida hes a way more seasoned fighter than jones, jones is wild with some strikes and machida is deadly with those counters not saying jones wont come back another day and win but not this time... yea machida got beat by shogun but so what everyone gets caught at some point in their career its what makes the sport interesting

@facey55 MMA Math isn't reliable. I honestly think Machida has a better chance than Rashad. To beat Jones, you need someone with great TDD defense, has very quick foot movement, and is a great counterstriker who won't be distracted by Jones' flashy moves. Machida fits all of that. His ability to leap and cover distance is almost second to none in MMA. He's incredibly hard to take down. I'm not even sure if he's been taken down in the UFC. And his striking and defense is top-notch. Machida FTW!

2 of the 3 surgeries happened years ago. They had absolutely nothing to do with the Jon Jones fight.
Jon Jones is an amazing fighter. I don't think Shogun fought to his full potential at UFC 128, but I'm sure it wasn't because of injuries.

Sh!t, Shogun's head movement is excellent. Not only his kicks, but his boxing is awesome too. I still it's a total toss up between him and Jon "Bones" Jones.
Obviously the technique and experiene hugely favors Shogun, but youth, strength, wrestling and size completely favors Bones.

@oneyedthing wait i seen this sparring match about 4 times through and through and it looked as if shogun won it. he possesed better striking and better defense. good head movement mixed up his strikes and everything a great striker would do. so who actually judges a sparring match anyway? to me it seemed as if shogun got the best of him.
