  • hahahaha Agree with you.....Jack

  • It will be as popular as the Segway, I'm calling it.

  • There is no one else that gets the irony of the name "kiwi" ?

  • This isnt that hard to make lol...

  • @ShadyForce4

    yep

just a big RC model capable to lift a ~100 kg

  • Buy jetpack and get 50% discount for funeral service

  • Dear Santa... add some working guns to that like a minigun on each side and some missile packs and i swear i will never be naughty again.......

  • @weewoozesty If ur not gonna be naughty, what do you suppose you'll be doing with those miniguns?

  • @kersmac who said i still will be nice after getting them......

  • @weewoozesty "i swear i will never be naughty again......." uhhh... you did

  • Dear Santa...

  • dude this is another fail

  • It's hardly the sort of thing you would tuck in a rucksack is it.

I want 1 like Sean Connery used in From Russia With Love

  • put a logo of an apple on it, you will sell lots! - "IPac"

  • @Jamac007 hahahaha SOO TRUEEE!!

  • If they have something on the bottom to rest your feet on that would increase the computability so much.

  • A wise old man once told me that money couldn't buy happiness... he was lying.

  • ......why does he call it a jetpack if there's no jet engine on it ? ^.-

  • i want that thing to my birthday!

  • I can picture a car shell around it.

  • i wonder how much it was

  • ITS TOOOOOO BIG MAN .

  • @22lovejon thats wat she said

  • What if... You mixed this invention with the Dyson fan invention. A jetpack that flies quietly, has no blades. Oh and doesn't make that buffeting sound :D

  • I've been looking these things up on the net for years. But this is the real first test flight I've seen that holds real promise. Progress is just too slow though. If they can get 400 people in the air with a 747 jet...can't they get 'one' person in the air?...

  • на видео с движущимся в ангере jetpack, постояно приходит на ум мысль, что без двух тросов и подвеса не обошлось ;-)

  • @EveryoneIsBoring

It has a parachute, it's more dangerous to fly a helicopter.

  • Great stuff! this looks like by far the best VTOL craft, personal or otherwise that I've seen whilst trawling through you tube. Wouldn't a rotary engine have a better p/w ratio?

  • What CAD modeling software did you used to model it?

  • that would be funny as hell if our borders were protected by dudes in jet packs lol

  • slow humans , but dont feel bad .u do awsome work . thumbs up

  • 30 minutes? Impractical. How will you fuel it? I don't seem to see fueling stations located every 30 minutes in any direction, and you won't be able to carry additional fuel. Makes a hell of a lot of noise also...I don't believe any user will be instantly welcomed when dropping into Aunt Bessie's tea party . So, another rich toy for the backyard. Knightsix

  • Guys if there are people who will buy this first generation of jet pack ,the company will develop even better jet packs .The size of of it will decrease and the efficiency will increase ..in 3 decades everyone will have the abilty to buy such.

  • @JackBauerwashere in 3 decades there will be lighter ones anyways lol

  • Awesome!!!!!!

  • thats not a jet pack, thats a friggin heli pack

  • We're all fucked if the US will buy it.

  • Yep. No sparkies. It's real.

  • the problem with jet packs, is that no one has tried to use an actual jet engine.

  • Kiwi jet pack ?? maybe this will get them to the dole office quicker.

  • Does anyone have any idea how high this bad boy can go? Does it need to be near the ground to be effective? In order to have resistance to blow against (clearly I have no grasp of physics! )

  • @supermark69 So far they have done a 1000 meter height test with a parachute landing with a crash test dummy

  • @supermark69 up to 8000 feet. They tested a parachute safety feature @ 5000ft.

  • Is it ready yet??? I want one of these!

  • Dear Santa........

  • Damn this thing can lift two of me!

  • go new zealand

  • This is great, and if this is just a start. I look for big things coming from Kiwi.

  • you are awesome!

  • you are awesome!

  • absolutely brilliant kiwi..

cant wait to get one should be the most fun just gonna to get some milk and bread from the store

  • really good BUUUUUUUUUUT WHY MR KIWI,do not construct a form of vehicle????

    - will not support weight

-you were seated and not standing

    - best aerodynamic

-aaaaaaaaand the best of LESS NOISE...!!

  • its not two jet engine's there is a 2Liter engine running to high power fans dumb people

  • That a little big to be called a "pack" A pack is supposed to be something you can pack on your back

  • @vk45de fine, then its a jet fridge.

  • If one flew over my house id get the shotgun out

  • Its interesting that they claim speeds in excess of 50 mph and altitude of 8000 ft yet the only video you see is traveling at about double the height of trees and about 5 mph. You have a dummy pilot and remote control, lets see it boys...

  • @lucianrus18 , and yes big helis use turbine because they need the power but ermm , smaller helis do use 2 stroke engines , because a smaller turbine still burns a much faster rate of fuel than a larger one , pluss the heat comes along with the trust , just really wouldent be safe if you think about it , i know i wouldent strap a turbin onto my back , i would really like to fly one ofthese tho =)

  • @lucianrus18 yeah that was the orginal jet pack it burnt way to much fuel , this will fly for at least half an hour , i wreckon it might be a good idea maybe to e 2 smaller more economical engine rather than 1 v4 maybe ?

and dos this thing have any autorotation capabilty ? , it wouldent really go down well if your engine cut , wich all aviation fanatics will know happens from time to time

  • "It’s time to kick ass and chew bubblegum"

    Duke Nukem

  • Good on ya mate ! Good to see such a great invention up and running on this side of the globe

    Cheers (Australia)

  • this is not jetpack.. this is fanpack...

  • @kambingbetula1 Look up how a jet works.

  • How high has this guy gone on this thing ?!?!

  • love this type of stuff. after college, well actually i wont be geting a job that deals with this, but on my spare time, ill build these

  • i am gonna buy one next year

i let you know how it is and i put the movies on youtube

    follow me !!!

  • I love this one but the design is still a bit cumbersome. Time will change that I'm sure. Oh, and for those going on abut 'jet' this and 'not a jet' pack that; a 'jet' is any continuous stream of particles from a single source. A water pistol spurts a jet of water! Look up the words Jet and jettison... to throw in a direction, a stream of... etc. anyway... moving on... lol

  • Why don't you simply put "The WASP (Williams Aerial Systems Platform) " into production. That is much better and flyable than this stuff.

  • i want this to go back and forth to school. oh you have a $80,000 mercedes, well i have a freakin jet pack!!

  • @revfan54 i know, your neighbors would all be driving their bmw and shit, id be like see yaa bitches! and take off!

  • Terrific video. Love the contraption. Wish I could afford to buy one. I actually trained on a compressed air rocket belt trainer. Not easy to fly, but you can't stop smiling when you're in the rig.

  • like some other guys say before why dont they use a small helicopter turbine i dont know like the rolls royce one that is used in the y2k bike, those turbine generates enough power and thrust, anyway they finally archive what the human kind as been dreaming since they look up into the sky, i wich i someday can have the money to buy one of these

  • It's probably been said already, I didn't read all the posts. It isn't a jet pack if it doesn't use a jet engine! It's a "recipricating internal combustion fan propulsion pack" lol

  • @gurn58 I hear ya. I'm a rocket belt enthusiast. And I understand what you're saying. But the common term "Jet Pack" is widely acceptable for most "Individual Lift Devices". Most people have not heard of a "Rocket Belt" anyway.

  • has 30 min of flight at top speed of 62mph and 7800 ft... dam thats sweet

  • put a s.e.g motor in this flying back ack it can take you any where in the world

  • i know youre right,however i need some answeres

  • @lucianrus18

I THINK you mean a "GAS TURBINE ENGINE" that the NEWER Helicopters USE ????

    Not a "JET ENGINE".

    .

  • @Vl0LAT0R i said i made a mistake becouse of my bad eanglish. i didnt meaned jet engine, i meaned gas turbine that newer helicopters use. so....why jetpack dont use gas turbine engines that newer helicopters use?

  • Jet engines would pose too many problems to be considered safe for domestic use. You guys have made a dream into reality. I love it.

  • @lucianrus18 go find us a fuel efficient jet engine capable of carrying a 120kg man, with a flite time of more than 30mins with only 3 gallons of gas....oh and it needs to be stable as in actually flyable by most people.

give up dude, martin has spent 28 years trying everything from jet engines to what hes got now...and this is as good as the technology has got so far.

the reason hes not using real jet engines is that there totally wrong for this application.

  • i'm a peacock you gotta let me fly

  • This puts the other jet packs that fly for 32 seconds to shame..

    .

  • there isint a highes rated comment yet so thumbs up = )

  • I can commute in less than 10 minutes each way. I would take this too work!

  • i wanna buy one D;

  • DAMN!!

  • Love this device! It can not be properly called a jet pack since no jet technology is used, but who cares.

  • You know the awsome thing? it's foot launched so no license required!

  • I bet Richard bought one... :D

  • dont let the trolls bother u seeing this made me smile even though i probly will never ride one :).

  • on a full tank it can last for half an hour

  • where is the jet?

  • how fast can it go?

  • Just another stupid invention, like them newfangled computer contraptions.

  • uhm how high can this fly. if it's only at 1-2 meter height it is useless then i would prefer a motorbike or somerthin. but like the computer it will be better

  • @haidar1144 it can fly up to 8000ft

  • Not a "jet"pack per say, but still kickass.

  • i would go with this to school hehe its dont look even a litle bit like the gta sa thing lol

    its cool

  • Question: why dont they make one with jet engines?like helycopters,it will be more powerfull and those are made for this job, small and creates big thrust.or at least put some turbocharger on this,it would give more power and not to much extra weight. i dont understand, maybe i'm wrong

  • @lucianrus18 Because you would be out of fuel prety fast

  • @lucianrus18 Using a jet engine in a personal jetpack is rather unstable, if you don't know that controls to an exacting science, the slightest amount of thrust will send you into the roof. The reason that will happen is because the thing is so light, most jet aircraft are more than 10 tons, this thing is probably less than a ton total.

Hope that explains for you. =)

  • @Generalbob117 Thank you for answer! But then why dont they turbocharge this one? more power for the same amount of petrol, and it wont add much more weight...

  • @lucianrus18 Perhaps the heat would kill you? Just a thought.

  • @lucianrus18

    WHY?

    1) Well for one.. You would burn your legs off..

    2) 'body damage danger' imagine hitting a wall at 350mph speed. lol ..do you think you would live?

    3) Think insurance costs for something that dangerous with real jet engines.

SO THATS WHY THEY MADE THIS VERSION....

  • @Vl0LAT0R Thanks for answering,but..1) they could redirect the hot air jet somewhere else, not on youre leggs.2)it-s not necessarly to fly with that speed, lower speed(like this 2 stroke engine version) but more fly time+altitude. 3) why with a efficient jet engine instead of this 2 stroke engine is dangerous but with actual engine is not dangerous? tell me why helicopters don t have 2 stroke engine? the jet engine spin a propeller at helicopters, right? why they couldn t use the same principle?

  • @lucianrus18

I thought you wanted to use JET ENGINES ? you wont be able to redirect this heat cos it need to put down-thrust and down-thrust needs to be pointed er.. DOWNWARDS ..to make vertical lift.

Also Helicoptors use normal engines cos they have a rotor blades, that makes them lift off...And do Not just the engine its self.

IF you are interested... there IS already a ONE MAN COPTOR BACK PACK invented.

PS im shure everyone here is happy with this inventsion until things get smaller.

  • @Vl0LAT0R helicopters use jet engines, and they make vertical lift with rotor blades. the heat is redirected backwards.you use the thrust of jet engine to rotate those carbon fiber rotors, get it? you dont need to point thrust downwards, cos the vertical lift is created by(carbon fiber)rotorblades, almost like HELICOPTERS, do you know how helicopter works? i dont know if you understand what i mean...just put a down scaled sistem of a heli on a jet pack, why wouldn-t it work better then this?

  • @lucianrus18

So.. do YOU want rotors on it ? ..or not? ..cos the heli-pack has already been invented as i said before.

  • @Vl0LAT0R jet engine with rotors ,like helicopters, how i said few hundreds times before,....not those helipack with 2 or 4 stroke engines. wach this /watch?v=hrSpFk_XXFo the air is redirected up,and the van is using the thrust to power the wheels. so in our case we could redirect the heat not on youre legs to burn them, and use the thrust of jet engine to power some carbon fiber rotors, right?

  • @lucianrus18

Are you sure you know what a "JET ENGINE" is ?

(it combusts compressed air and ignites into flames)

Helicopters don't use this for the rotor blade motors movement ???

Here.. goto this video link...add (youtubeDOTcom/) before this.. watch?v=p1TqwAKwMuM

    ..

  • @Vl0LAT0R really? helicopers use those engines , in this video it looks like it does /watch?v=yauoaW7HfAs

  • @lucianrus18 the heat is redirected backwards?? what heat?? what jet engine?? i suggest you google how a helicopter works

  • @not00bent answere those questions please,i mabey wrong, but i will be thankfull if you make me understand

    1. helicopers use jet engines or not? or uses 2 stroke engines????

    2. if yes, how it use it? the jet engines produce hot gases with a turbine.

    3. its true that helicopters use the hot gases to move some rotorblades( propeller)? ...(i cant english very well)

    4. if the helicopters use jet engines, it means that is more practical for flying, true? than why jet packs doesnt?

  • @lucianrus18 helicopters use neither 2 stroke engines nor jet engines to power its rotor blades, so your question about the hot air being used to power the rotor blades is irrelevant.

also to answer your last question; helicopters dont use jet engines... but when you say they are more practical for flying use that is not true at all, jet engines are used in (mostly) jets for a reason because they are very impractical for use elsewhere.

  • @not00bent than what kind of engine helicopter use? i tought it was jet engines

  • @lucianrus18 lrn2google

  • @not00bent not everyone is as smart as you are.....so i thought helicopters use gas turbine, witch are jet engines, right? if not....why jetpacks dont use gas turbines engines? or whatever engine helicopter use ,why dont the use it on jet packs? why they have to use that 2 stroke engine that scooters does? why are the not using a 800 hp formula one engine? a turbocharged engine? this one is heavy, big ,loud, consumes pretty much fuel..a gas turbine that spines those carbon fiber propellers? thx

  • @lucianrus18 once again... lrn2google it will save us both a lot of time.

  • @not00bent if you don't have time please don't respond me. if you respond me try to respond my questions, not give me advices. PS: I'm very sorry if you lost youre pretious time with me

  • @lucianrus18 your seriously a fucking retard, i mean do u not think that if a helicopter used a jet engine u would be able to see a HUGE exhaust pipe spitting bright blue flames? Do u also not think if it had a 2-stroke engine or whatever else u were saying that it would also have a exhaust pipe on it?

i dont know ur just a little kid but if ur not then u must be 1 dumb cunt...if u cant figure out how to use google or any other search engine then u dont deserve to have a computer

  • @not00bent sorry ,now i see whats the problem here, becouse i cant english very well,i tought jet engines = Turboshaft engines ,a kind of gas turbines that helicopter uses. sorry again. i know google is my friend, and i used it,but now i didnt find why jetpack dont use gas turbines ( turboshaft ones ) . if you have the answere respond,if not, let somebody who does, becose from youre point of view, this is a waste of time, and i dont want 2 steal u re time.

  • @not00bent this is a waste of time, making me dumb and retard, instead of this u could respond me at my questions. do you have a problem if i am a dumb? this affects you? if not, shut the fuck off or help me at my questions

  • @lucianrus18 yes it is a waste of my time... so ill "shut the fuck off" lol peace faggot

  • @not00bent youre mesaje didnt hepled me to respond my question,so do what you said. ps: why do you signed you as a "faggot"?

  • @lucianrus18

    good question

  • @lucianrus18 they are bt look it up its diff company that are

  • @lucianrus18 It's limited by fuel tanks.

  • Or why dont they use a engine like this one youtube.com/watch?v=CezWPkoWXbY&feature=player_embedded It's approx same size but far more powerfull, like 640 hp .... for fuel economy use smaller engine , but i would think this type of engine is much better then that 2 stroke one

  • @lucianrus18

    The problem is the fuel.

A jet engine needs much more fuel then this, and is limited to a minute fly and the pilot must be a light weight.

Despite, it is more exposive and heavier.

  • @schusterlehrling thanx, i know i may be wrong , but i thought that gas turbines engines are even more efficient that this 2 stroke engine. i found this info,is it true? " With 40% efficiency, gas turbine engine is even better than the diesel engine and much lighter weight per power ratio." if is that true, shouldn't be more economic becose youre getting the same amount of power output with less fuel and less weight? mabey i know i'm wrong, but i need to see why, sorry

  • @lucianrus18 That is what I was thinking. Like just a simple jet engine and you stick to it.....and the jet will carry you instead of you carrying the jet. Makes kinda sence, right?

  • @lucianrus18 think its because so they can use regular gas like from the car

  • @lucianrus18 you are wrong. heat, fuel and cost considerations are paramount, as well as tons of stuff im sure neither of us would understand. rest assured that companies typically dont spend millions of dollars developing things with teams of engineers that adolescent youtube viewers could improve after watching a 3 minute video. im not trying to be mean, just making a necessary point.

  • @HaydenGHall i only wanted to know why im wrong, why is not reliable tu use in such situation a gas turbine engine. Thank you

  • @lucianrus18 It would burn more fuel, not to mention your legs :P

  • @14268220 i tought gas turbine engines are more efficient than 2 stroke one =>more power/less fuel consumption.....and i don.t understand...why do you have to burn youre legs?? why cant you redirect the heat that comes from turbines? Why?? helicopters use that hot jet air to power those propellers, why cant be used same sistem in jet packs?why dont heli use 2 stroke engines??

Again, I know i'm wrong , couse i didnt spend 20 year to build one of thiese, but I need to know why im wrong. Thank you

  • @lucianrus18

There are a couple of problems with this. The obvious problem is having two very, very hot streams of fire strapped to your back.

The other is the problem of weight. Jet engines burn through fuel very quickly and it would take a tremendous amount of fuel to power the two jet engines. That would mean more fuel, and more weight, and larger rockets to carry the weight...and so it gets into a feedback loop. That's why a viable jet pack has yet to be invented.

  • @chopman83 Thank You!

  • @lucianrus18 The heat produced from the jet engine would fry you

  • Why not a hover bike in stead. A jet pack should be smaller but a hover bike I would take in this size.

  • Why is it 'flying' inside ?

Has it actually flown untethered yet

  • change that nazi logo, man!

  • For now, it's noisy 'n bulky, but.....

it gives a new prospect for those commuters who sit everyday in those %^@+)~# traffic jams or overcrowded (and often delayed!!!) public transport systems. And since working at home isn´t always a solution, why not making use of the greatly underused space above us, the sky.....

  • is to big :/

  • Yes! Kiwis are inventive and creative! If you want to see more Kiwi talent, then watch Piwi The Kiwi starring in his new YouTube video - WORLD WONDER FROM DOWN UNDER.

WARNING: Some of the language used is NOT politically correct. May offend Namby Pambies, Hoity Toities and other weak-minded bastards!

  • How much cost a jet pack?

  • If this had more maneuverability, some kind of protective shield for the pilot, and mounted heat-sensor turrets, I'd say it'll be a good idea to use it for semi-military purposes or for Border Patrol.

  • untill a segway gets a hover mode it's here to stay i guess :)

  • its begun

  • He's not a dreamer, they are actually manufacturing these things, they are real, and their specs are amazing. The ARE jetpacks, literally, jet engines you strap on your back, if you want magic flying suits go read some iron man comics.

  • Dreamers like him give me hope for the human race.

  • ive seen the hoverchair, it was smaller than this.

  • I can see some serious future military applications.

  • LOL. people saying its to big why ?. look at the size of the car u drive i person driving up to 4000 pounds and above of steel. now thats to big morons. think before u speak

  • Is there a redundancy plan if an engine is stuck or fails? I saw the parachute which is good.

  • 0:20 He used the university system to find out if spinning fans will put a man in the air. I think this guy had too much support I mean more than what his idea worth and he came up with something that doesn’t fly and now out of business.

  • Comment removed

  • this doesn't use fuel??? what is powering the fans? and the engine???

  • not to be negative but it looks quite borin

  • @Lou14UK

You obviously don't have much interest in anything to do with aviation, if you think this machine is boring. Go back to your knitting.

  • it's thingsl like this that make me wish I was born maybe 100 years from now.

  • my girlfriend is gonna make me dry her hair...great

  • i want a poop pack where i can poop in

  • @TheNewDecor great idea we all could be crappin while we flyin all over the place explosive diarea could be the fuel

  • Comment removed

  • I hope it'll b out in the market soon..if that happens, for sure more ideas will come out and soon this jetpack will goin to be a size of a camping bag..

  • This guy invented a machine that you can strap on your back and fly. You don't even know the difference between "TO' and "TOO". Now I ask, who is the retard?
