  • WOW I"m really old...Merv Griffin was a great guy.....I even had my hair in a wedge ala Dorthy Hamill for years!!!! God was it that long ago?? Thanks for posting... LOVED it! :0)

  • So glad Disco died! No more guys prancing around and spinning like girls.. At least not like that:-)

  • I had to stop watching, the audience pissed me off. Move damnit!

  • Hold still David!

  • maybe he was on Quaaludes?

  • @DA90027 LOL.

  • @DA90027 LOL.

  • @DA90027 'Ludes were downers... he was probably on coke.

  • @ycdtotv I was thinking the same thing. Quaaludes would make you sleepy.

  • probably he should of gone w/ a long sleeve shirt.

  • And those spins of his are just dynamite! You can tell he really practiced them lol

  • This guy is such a clueless bimbo, I kinda can't help but feel affection for him lol

  • He's dancing like he's very proud of his accomplishment with this song. He's probably thinking... I'm making it in Hollywood, I have a awesome hit song, & I sure can dance my ass off! Some of you guys comments are funny btw! :D

  • The typical One Hit Wonder one would expect out of The 70's. Truth be told, he was only an average actor in The 70's, and that's not going to sustain you in The Biz. Nice try, though.

  • I was 18 in 1979 and was a great dancer this guy dances like he has jock itch!

  • @DA90027 I was only 3 in 1979 so I missed seeing him! LOL.

  • what a dry crowd, if i was there i would be dancing my ass off. lol

  • That is a great song. LOVE IT !

  • He had a nice figure which would soon be on full display in An American Werewolf in London.

  • kill me now....

  • He turned into a werewolf because he got bitten by a honey badger.

  • ah ha ha OMG

  • you're kidding me...lol

  • @Yononamegiven no i kid you not

  • he should of named this song beatin' it cause he beat up his wife rememeber that?

  • Guapo!!..handsome!!

  • the girls in the front just wanna get their hands on that dildo he's singing into!

  • @dewaynecullen hahaha that was a good one...

  • His dancing was so cute!!! It was bad but it's cute watching him "groove it down". hehe!

  • to jlroberson LMAO that is what he looks like

  • I would still do him!!!

  • Im sorry but this man was a hottie in 1979 when I was 13 his goregous innocent look was soo Hot!!! At age 45 now he still amazing to watch in his younger days Memories of such a sweet time!!!

  • @Mr. Naughton can well afford to dance any way he pleases. It's a shame that it seems he's been pigeonholed by his "Werewolf" turn. We actors are better than only one of our films.

  • had such a crush on him when i was young. haha

  • David Naughton from An American Werewolf in London , amazing

  • Ah, sweet memories of teen night at the Elmwood Village in Buffalo

  • 1978 was not a good year for pop music.

  • PARTICIPEI DEMAIS DESTA MUSICA NA BOATE DANCE 83 NO RIO DE JANEIRO

  • That's what getting attacked by a werewolf will do to you, it will give you the power to dance like a low rent Travolta

  • STAY STILL NAUGHTON. Jeez, he danced like he suffered tremors.

  • @JLRoberson lol

  • fun and cool

  • Me too! 2011

  • do I hear Dancing with the Stars calling?!

  • In the commentary on one of his own performances Elton John explained once why none of the people in these audiences are moving much. He said that these performances often require several takes, so by the time they get the finished product the audience is quite bored with the whole act.

  • the audience is nit dead. theyre just concentrating on watching the performance

  • Just watch out for a full moon..........

  • virgins on the left. non-virgins on the right...

  • Poor guy.....he has to perform for such a boring audience....

It is a good thing he is a professional.......I give him 5 stars...

    * * * * *

  • He is so natura! And, yes - high energy! That is something we all should have! God bless your Mom and you Beautifulmusiclistnr!

Also, I agree, with you urmaniac! I told my classmates to vote it as a class theme song for 1980! I loved it that much and still do. Even as a go through this divorce, today it still lifts me up and tells me, I am OK!

  • At that moment he hadn't been bitten by the werewolf yet, he was a regular human being.

  • DISCO IS DEAD

  • He looks just like that guy from An American Werewolf in London.

  • @NemeanLion he is that guy.

  • @NemeanLion

Because its the same guy! He was in American Werewolf In London in '82!

  • @NemeanLion That's because he is. LOL

  • He didnt lip sync in the recording studio. Thats all that matters these days.

  • David Naughton is the reason I started drinking Dr. Pepper, and all these years later, I'm STILL a pepper! And, I bet he's still drop-dead gorgeous!

  • PARECE QUE LO VEO ENCUERADO TRANSFORMÁNDOSE EN LOBO JAJAJA, Y LA ROLA ES MUY BUENA Y LA GENTE BIEN AGUADA, COMO SI NO HUBIERA NADA, QUE FRIOS DE VERDAD, NO HAY COMO EL PÚBLICO LATINO

  • No one person in the audience is moving

  • He kicks ass!! Forget the remixes!! This is one of the best songs ever written and sang!! Love you David Naughton!

  • Love this song. Been trying to find it on cd with no luck. One of my favorites in Meatballs.

  • Love this song. Been trying to find it on cd with no luck.

  • que mal dobla la cancion

  • David Naughton is a mad cool talented guy. I wish he was on tv or movies more

  • it would be better if he just turned into a werewolf halfway through and ate someone's head

  • im embarassed for him on this haha dancin like a fool in front of 500 people

  • where was he proforming the audience looks like a bunch of dead people!!!

  • the audience is so DEAD

  • Love you David! Does not get better than this!!! I wish at 45 I was this handsome and on top of the world. Will keep that confidence in 2011!!

  • Like Zappa said: "I'm a dancing foool foool foool"

  • This was the beginning of the Karaoke craze that exists to this day, to the point where just about everyone you see today is a Karoake performer. Rap, dance, rock. a single person with no discernible band. This all started with making the public believe dance was a neccessary ingredient for music which is complete nonsense.

  • I bet it is hard to dance and sing that much at once. Wish I felt that good.

  • he looks like chachi

  • he was in a very good episode of seinfeld

  • I think he had to be seriously whacked on coke to do this awful dance/lip sync performance. & I really don't even think it's David's voice. I think he did a "Milli Vanilli" peeps!

  • If someone please have this video without the watermark "created with ..." please upload it, its a classic disco song that dont deserves a watermark like that

  • His dancing looks NOTHING like how people danced in clubs back then, he looks like he has a bad case of goiter clusters.

  • Whoa... wait a minute...

  • What a dork!

  • Wadda hunk! Oooo, did I crush in him back then! Damn!

  • this guy had a good sense of humility to do this act for this audience.

  • I just randomly typed in "makin it" not expecting anything good, then this awesome classic popped up. I never did know exactly what they were saying.

  • david is a fucking legend...pardon my lanuage...but fuck it..hes a bloody legend in my book

  • Is that the same background that Kramer rescued from the dumpster on Seinfeld?

  • @yarekhunt ...It does look familiar!

    ♫♪♪♫

  • "Chachi" Scott Baio move over.....the Fonz needs to dance his Russian routine.

  • I used to dance to this song when I was a teenager, I loved it then and still do. I cant believe the audience is just sitting there and not moving, if I was there I would have been dancing. What an awesome beat!

  • This is the song at the big dance in "Meatballs" - I love it!!! He's still my favourite werewolf! "Hellooooo David!!!"

  • That's my buddy, David!

And I can attest to the fact that he is STILL pretty awesome : )

  • 30 years from now people will be laughing at artists from today....

  • OMG roflmao and this is my childhood I'm staring at I was like 13 when this came out. I'm cringing watching him dancing around. I don't remember pop singer looking so goofy moving around on a stage?

  • D-Naughty rulz

  • It's David Naughton. He's the epitome of cool! Want proof: Hot Dog the Movie! How cool was he in that film?

  • Merv must have been beside himself with hot man lust.

  • there is NO way that in today's world of TV, that anyone could get away with this type of act. In 2010, you'd be laughed off stage if you tried this type of performance

  • what once passed for talent.

  • Hahahah, sing and dance at the same time? I think he is lip-syncing. I didn't know they had cordless mics in '79. This song just popped in my head and I found this. It is a catchy tune! Thanks for posting!

  • He looks like scott baio.

  • Look At "The American Werewolf" cut loose.

GO ON WITH YOUR BAD SELF!!!

  • this is the kind of song, you don't tell anybody, you listen to....

    LOL

  • I didn't now Dave was the actual "spaz" in real life.

  • OMGosh what a flashback!

  • I want a Dr. Pepper and listen to Disco!

  • Did HighEnergyBoy80 have anything to do with this?

  • I just love this song, I have for my entire life since I was a kid, and never gets old. It is so infectuous, and makes me feel so happy and want to bop around to the beat every time I hear it :-)

  • @urmaniac13 This song plays where I work. I loved it as a kid and hadn't heard it or thought of it in years. I still have my 45 with his picture on the cover.

  • Why the hell don't they have this on iTunes?????????????? This song is soooooooooo good!

  • @99augie I asked the same thing...itunes only have the Karaoke version..Sucks!!

  • He's so cute. I especially like his appearance on the Midnight Special. I love this song to this day. It's very optimistic. Man, I remember practically falling in love with this guy a few years later when I saw him in An American Werewolf In London. Even today, he still looks good.

  • it doesnt load...

  • how come nobody is moving in the audience?

  • I Wonder If He's Still A Pepper? According To Him Everyone Was.

  • my fav song!!! i love it!!!

  • I think that werewolf was a couple of years late in biting his disco-lovin ass. LOL

  • Say what you will about this video or David Naughton, but it's probably not easy to sing and dance in front of a live audience. I think he deserves some credit for that. When I was a teen, this song was very popular, and I always thought it was a cool song. I taped this song on a cassette back then, and on that cassette is my Mom's voice for a few moments right in the middle of the song as I was taping it. She went to be with Jesus in January, but that's the only voice recording I have of her.

  • If young people today actually were inspired by this instead of the crap they listen to today there might be hope for the future. God Bless David for dancing his way through a painfully long introduction and God Bless you too!

  • @Beautifulmusiclistnr ...just read your posting, thats so sad....

  • @Beautifulmusiclistnr Nice message....thanks for sharing.

  • @miocynar Thank you for reading what I wrote. We never know what's going to cause us to make a memory of something or someone special. God Bless

  • @Beautifulmusiclistnr what on EARTH makes you think he was singing? He was lip syncing.

  • @fanofprotopic I guess I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt. I like to do that with people.....give them the benefit of the doubt.

  • @Beautifulmusiclistnr I wouldnt really call that dancing, he looks like hes walkin around tryin to shake a load out of his shorts. good song though. sorry about your mother :-(

  • @Beautifulmusiclistnr He's lip-synching the song. What's the big feat?

  • @Beautifulmusiclistnr He wasn't singing. Lip synching's been around for a looooooong time.

  • I wonder if anyone is sitting in the audience thinking "Boy! This guy can really dance!" He was better as "An American Werewolf In London" Actually, the girl was the best part of that show too.

  • Tune was in the movie "MEATBALLS"

  • the song became a hit 2 months after the show was off the air !

  • It's a catchy, upbeat tune. But I must admit, that was painful to watch. lol

  • I like the words in it! and in the 70's I am sure it was popular ! Some may think it's corny, but I guess everyone is entitled to their opinion. Positive song !! :))

  • I thought this was a cool song when I was a kid. I could have lived without seeing him perform it. BRUTAL!

  • Very inspiring song for those who want to make it and you will if you dont give up.He's very inspiring so lets be nice to him.

  • looks like a hot cha-chi a little tone deaf but it's okay...lol

  • WACK!!!!!!!, dude you was a better werewolf

  • How worked up could a crowd get watching someone so obviously lip synch? Nobody performed live back then except on SNL. SO fake! Anyway, David Naughton was most well known for his "Dr. Pepper" commercials - he did them for several years and were very popular. In 1980 he did "An American Werewolf in London" & then a few years later he did a sitcom called "My Sister Sam" with Pam Dawber (of "Mork and MIndy" fame). He was Dawber's neighbor/love interest.

  • The song hit #5 and sold over a million copies.

  • Was this a hit? Seems like several artists choose the disco route.

  • @blktenor - It was indeed...in fact, it was actually more successful than the TV show!

  • HE IS RATHER STIFF

  • Boy, he really had the crowd going.

  • Yeah, really! I bet if they were on meth, they would have even clapped along!

  • he was in hot dog the ski movie

    on seinfeld

    i tink he was in

a movie with lea thompson from back to the future too!!

    he deserves more work!!

  • He's got some moves

  • YES MOVES, BUT WHAT KIND

  • NOBODY KNOWS

  • He was An American Werewolf in London but also starred in a show with the song as it's title MAKING IT. It was a sort of SNF ripoff with him in a John Travolta white suit. I loved it and him!

  • 1879??? Don't you mean 1979.

  • Yes, David Naughton was the werewolf in the movie American Werewolf in London.

  • Was he an actor too? I think I have seen him recently on a movie about werewolf or something like that.......
