This was one of my all time favorite movies. I loved that they changed the little girl to a grown woman, and that they turned the rural setting to a complete urban scene, with all the attending situations. Many folk didn't get the sublties and nuances of this film, but I totally did, and thoroughly enjoyed every one of them.

yes but when berry gordy bought the rights to the film she insisted that she play dorothy. he thought that she wasnt right for the part but she was so adamant about doing it she went behind berry's back and spoke to the producers and convinced them to cast her. the rest as they say is history.......
