The reactor was taken out in approximately 1964. Diesel power since then. This power plant is quieter than the old penguin power across from medical. This plant opened while I was stationed there.

The reactor leaked. When I was there the reactor building was used for water distillation. Bulldozers were used to collect all the loose contaminated (supposedly ) rock. It was then shipped to California.

Nuclear power seems like it would be ideal - why'd they take out the reactor? Just curious, is wind power an option? There seems to be a lot of it!
