ok i have a 1998 Ford windstar, and the guy at the shop wants to charge me 2k to replace something behind the timming cover that is leaking a gallon of oil a day,and i told him not to do it and leave it alone,so could this be whats leaking behind my timming chain cover the front oil seal or front pan gasket???
@richard3850 Castrol GTX is the best conventional oil on the market. Regular oil changes is all you need for clean engine parts. If you want to go synthetic Mobil 1 is the best. The filter you use is also important. Some good options include Wix, Purolator, or Mobil 1 (best but most expensive). I personally use a factory Nissan filter (I have a Nissan).

Would anyone know how tight the oil pan bolts are supposed to be on a 98 jeep Cherokee sport with 4.0L I6???
(Mine are leaking some... Should I just replace it or can I get away with tightening them first? I tried to tighten and they are loose.)
Any help would be much appreciated!!!

What kind of motor oil do you use because the inside looks very clean?

@richard3850 My car came Factory Filled with Mobil 1 so that's the only oil my engine has ever seen.

Your pan is leaking about 1.6 milliliters per hour.
