I ws just as much trying to look at the background (perhaps more than the buses) and apart from the more familiar bits of the High Street I've barely a clue where these shots were taken! It's changed...
The first part is shot from the corner of Boathouse Lane and Bridge Road (you can see the ramp up to Victoria Bridge in the background), then it moves further up Bridge road to the corner of Parliament St (today occupied by a large roundabout).
Then we see buses turning from Yarm Lane into the High St . Finally the High St which as you say, is just about the only recognisable bit!
