I was feeling crappy today, feeling sorry for myself. Living with kidney disease isn't easy. Seeing close friends and family die around me made things worse. When my cat died of kidney disease last year, my whole world shattered. I slowly found ways to get my life in order: being more positive and staying true to myself, being kind and generous to others, as I always was. Your video reminded me of what I was meant to do in this world: LIVE. So Steve, thanks for your inspiration. BIG HUGS friend!
I don't want to say "well done for coming out" because I should not have to, you are a human being and obviously a good man, different on your end of the spectrum I guess because It is your life, but yeah you are just a human being to me , my equal or if anything better than me for I have not managed to fit all the good things that you have done into my life........ yet.
I'm not bi-sexual or a lesbian but watching this and the follow touched my heart. It's things like this that make me proud of the LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual, Transgender) community. I think you are magnificent person and I am so proud of you and anybody who came out because of this. I know not everybody is as accepting on non-heterosexual people but they'll come around.
Thank you so much for this video. I hope is shines on a light on the lives of EVERY one who is scared to come out. <3
That makes me want to be a better person. Even if you're not gay, or bi-sexual, or have a friend who's gay or bi-sexual, this video teaches a great lesson. :)
Hey sweetie, yes you are a hero and a role model. I am proud that you came out, and yes again you are a big cuddly teddy bear a very tall teddy bear. grizzleymichael@gmail.com I would love to get to know you. Thanks and HUGS Michael
Im gay and it took me almost 20 yrs to come out. Sir as a professional TV director and editor you are very talented and very handsome. I would like to someday work with you. GOD BLESS and heres hoping you find work soon.
This video changed the way I look at the world and the people in it people should be treated equal and not different because of what they like and who they go out with. bnsa, you are a role model and you are my hero
Thank you so much for making this video, I teared up. You are a great man and my father also served in Dessert storm around that year. I am Bi as well, only a few people know. It hurts to think i can't tell my family because i know them and they wouldn't understand or alot of my friends around me. maybe one day i will be able to but for right now i am straight to the world.
I know it was a while ago, but I really enjoyed this video. I actually cried when I watched it because I used to hate the way I was. My mom shunned me for being bisexual and several times tried to convince me I wasn't. When she finally accepted it, I've been called so many names by the woman who gave birth to me. An abomination, a dyke, a freak.... But only in private. In public, she has to keep up her 'Christian' appearance.
Thank you sir, dude,or whatever..you really made my day,i knew i wasn`t the only one thinking that way,but you are a better example,i`m being soo pround atm...my girlfriend(posible ex) was bisexual too..that kinda hurt a bit but..ehm..anyway...lots of compasion from Romania.=]
Oh REALLY?I think we can all see a big difference between a big difference between a Bi-sexual, Artistic, Writing, Cartooning, Photographing, Storm Chasing, Ghost Hunting, Fire Fighting, Soldiering, HONORABLY DISCHARGED, EMT, life saving, electronic technician, engineer, exIntel, exSony, exSolar World, broke and unemployed, Survivor loving, 6' 5", looking, big teddy bear, christian, animal loving, outgoing, good, model, hero, and a heterosexual one! Just Kidding :P great video. :)
Wow you sir are the reason I am proud to be who I am. Thank you for your service and thank you for helping others. You are what great people are made of and for sure you are a hero to me. Your video touched me and I shead a tear. THANK YOU again.
oh my gosh, I just saw your video and I have to say it was amazing! Your words touched me soooooo much! And no worries! I still think you are the same awesome person you were 5 minutes ago! :)
I'm praying that you find employment. Thank you for your service, and for making this video...and above all, continue to honor yourself for the wonderful person that you have always been.
due i have u on my shuffle and and i was shocked to find out that this was you. i was just listening but not watching, i love you so much hope you are having a great time and i love you video :) i was talking to my friend of friendships when i came upon ur video again
@petelebu - Way back in history (Roman/Greeks time) nobody cared, everyone was either gay/straight/bi. Then religion came along & branded us "evil". People became ashamed & afraid for something they had no control over, who or what they are. Then hatred & bigotry started to grow violent & we got tired of it, so we fought back by educating the world that we're everywhere, that God doesn't make mistakes. You're witnessing history, a revolution to end the violence, hatred & ignorance till its gone.
For the first time in my life i genuinely feel the need to say "thank you for making me cry". I would consider myself very fortunate to have you as one of my friends. Those who ARE you friends have their lives enriched by knowing you.
I don't even know what to say. I hate that words like gay and fag are used in such a derogatory way and one thing I learned from my mother is to except people for who they are. But with all the haters out there its hard. I'm very guilty of using these words. Not because I have anything against people with a different sexual orientation, but because these are the words that the world uses and its awful. Thank you for your service and for your bravery. I will do my best to be a better person.
You are a hero. I can not express... as a member of the GLBT community, we struggle every day. You, sir, are a credit to our community, and to the human race in general. Every time I watch this, I feel empowered.
I come back and see this video every so often because it is so loving and awesome, and has so much good in it. A loving message from a very lovable man :0)
I literally stood up and applauded in my basement for what you've done. I'm gay and still haven't told my dad because I was afraid of what he would think. This inspires me, I'm sitting down with my dad and telling him once I get the chance.
I was really moved by this. Really beautiful and insightful, inspirational. I doubt you will be unemployed for long.Thank you for being so honest.I'm straight...it makes no difference to me as long as you are a good person. I wish you all the best.x
@forchristssakeable1 -- I wish it was true that I would be not be unemployed for long but not all my employers want to see this on my resume. Yes, it's there loss but maybe Karma might kick in. Thank you for the kind words. :-)
Mate this video is just awesome. You ARE an inspiration a breath of fresh air simply for being you. Congratulations on all your achievements coming out included, although the biggest difference I've ever noticed was how I felt. Everyone else just kept on ticking along nicely like nothing had changed. Which is exactly what i wanted and hope the same happens for you.
@Toniaslee -- It's funny how our insecurities and doubts make it seem bigger than it is. In the end, it's exactly like you said. Thanks for the kind words mate. :-)
Great video. You and I have led near parallel lives - military (8 yrs 1990-1998 w/ Honorable Discharge), EMS (paramedic in LA County), artist, photographer, writer. Granted, I'm heterosexual & an atheist, but somehow i think that would alright by you. If we met in person that would not hinder us from becoming friends. I'm glad you're able to be honest with others & yourself. I think you're helping many others do the same with this video. Cheers.
I'm straight and think you are completely right. People need to remember we are all human, all alive, no matter our age, race, creed, orientation, religions, etc, etc. We are all people and deserve to be treated so. You've proven your a hero, not only for your past accomplishments but for having the courage to stand up for you. Remember all, what matters is loving yourself and being around people who love you for you. Sir, you are an inspiration and I hope everything works out for you.
I am straight and always have been, but you right there have said everything that could be said. People need to remember deep down, we are all living beings, all humans, no matter what we look like, believe, or are in truth. And everyone who keeps putting you down for who you are isn't worth the time, you only need to love who you are and what you are, and to have friends and family that support and love you. Sir, I salute you for making this video. You are an inspiration to humanity.
Im came back for a second dose because I needed it. I just got done moderating the attempted comments at my daughters video and it is just heart wrenching. It isn't enough that a person is hurt, but some respond like vultures to rip and tear some more at her. This always gives me heart and courage. Thank you.
@SnakeWomanMedusa - I wish you and your daughter peace and comfort. If she needs a friend and is on FB, I'll be happy to be counted amongst them. Message me with her/yours facebook link if you wish.
@jasonerling - I'm proud of you Jason and I'm honored that I was a part of your big day today. I promise, it does get better (already 9 months out!) and while everyone is still not there yet as far as coming to terms with it, we're slowly making progress. Not everyone needs to know your orientation but it feels damn good to be proud and say what you are when someone asks. :-)
@bnsa you are such an inspiration this has given me the courage to say the truth when someone asks me if i'm gay because up until now i keep denying it even though i know it in my heart that i like men so thank you for making this video you're a great person =')
You have so much to be proud of! You deserve the best of everything, and you are such an inspiration! I really hope you and your girlfriend are very happy together, and I bet she is so proud of what you are! I've never met anyone like you, and you are just amazing.
When I first came out to my closest friends they said the same thing. "Yeah So took you long enough."
Yes Im Bi my oldest friend puts it this way, "When we go out to the bars you have double the chance to go home with someone." you know I agree with him.
@kinder4lif -- And double the chance of being heart broken... be careful and whom ever is lucky to be with you will be worth risking a broken heart for. :-)
@kinder4lif -- And double the chance of being heart broken... be careful and whom ever is lucky to be with you will be worth risking a broken heart for. :-)
Wow! Just wow! Thank you for making this. It's one of the most unique testimonials against labels and stereotypes I've ever seen on YT. If this opens the mind and heart of just 1 bigot to see that people are people regardless of sexuality, it was worth it. I think you are awesome and I salute you! Thanks again for this great vid.
I'm afraid I have gone past that number my friend... I have touched many lives with this video, which surprised me! I'm honored that this is so well received and is helping educate the world. :-)
OMG I love your video. Its really sweet. Yes to all the things you asked. You are a role model, a hero, and one of the best people in the worl. Stay this way. My boyfriend might be bi-sexual and he has tried to kill himself but he is getting better and healthier because I don't care for his sexual prefrence I just care he is happy.
@EvilAngelic7 - I hope you can share this video with him and in a few months (October) I'm going to release a 1 year follow up (yes it's already been that long!) that a lot of people are eagerly awaiting. Be sure to show him that one too. Thank you for being a very supportive girlfriend too, I'm blessed to have one too and it's awesome. (Doesn't mean I have or need a boyfriend (I don't)) I'm glad he's getting better. *Hugs*
@theangelkat - I wish you luck... it's a journey we all have to take alone and when we're ready. It's taken me 39 years to do so and part of me wished and wondered why I took so long. I'm so glad I did but what works for one person may not for another because clearly, my video is seen ALL over the world and I know some places you can be killed if found out. Slowly we are making a difference and I wish you the best of luck. *Hugs*
I hope you have children to pass both your genes and your open mind and heart onto...it's hard to bring kids up as tolerant and accepting in what can be a selfish, bigoted world, but I'm pretty sure I've added 3 to the mix...my kids would love you! To invoke such an amazing positive response to such a misunderstood subject means you're doing your bit in changing the world! Next step...let's remove labels altogether!
@bootcampbiatch - I hope I have children someday too. I haven't been blessed with any yet. Thank you for the kind words and I agree, let's get rid of labels altogether. :-)
You are a wonderful person! Thanks for posting such a wonderful video and message! This is a way of life people, there is nothing wrong with it as long as the people have respect for others wishes also!
Hey! I think I saw you, but I'm not too sure. Have you recently (today) eaten at a place called Wing City Grille?
I'm sorry if I have mistaken you for someone else. In any case, thank you for posting this video. I was in tears! You're definitely a role model for me. I don't know how else to say THANK YOU!!! Lots of love <3 <3 <3

I just came out to my friends today, and i wanted you to know your video was a big part of what gave me the courage and strength to do so. thank you
jasonerling 6 months ago
@jasonerling - I'm proud of you Jason and I'm honored that I was a part of your big day today. I promise, it does get better (already 9 months out!) and while everyone is still not there yet as far as coming to terms with it, we're slowly making progress. Not everyone needs to know your orientation but it feels damn good to be proud and say what you are when someone asks. :-)
bnsa 6 months ago
@bnsa you are such an inspiration this has given me the courage to say the truth when someone asks me if i'm gay because up until now i keep denying it even though i know it in my heart that i like men so thank you for making this video you're a great person =')

When I first came out to my closest friends they said the same thing. "Yeah So took you long enough."
Yes Im Bi my oldest friend puts it this way, "When we go out to the bars you have double the chance to go home with someone." you know I agree with him.
kinder4lif 6 months ago
@kinder4lif -- And double the chance of being heart broken... be careful and whom ever is lucky to be with you will be worth risking a broken heart for. :-)
bnsa 5 months ago
@bnsa -- there is no fun in life if there's no risk being taken.
but somewhere out there is my love and i hope to find them.
;} last year I finally told my mom, and the rest of the family,
And I have to say I like being able to be just myself.

Wow!

EvilAngelic7 7 months ago
@EvilAngelic7 - I hope you can share this video with him and in a few months (October) I'm going to release a 1 year follow up (yes it's already been that long!) that a lot of people are eagerly awaiting. Be sure to show him that one too. Thank you for being a very supportive girlfriend too, I'm blessed to have one too and it's awesome. (Doesn't mean I have or need a boyfriend (I don't)) I'm glad he's getting better. *Hugs*

theangelkat 7 months ago

Next step...let's remove labels altogether!
bootcampbiatch 7 months ago
@bootcampbiatch - I hope I have children someday too. I haven't been blessed with any yet. Thank you for the kind words and I agree, let's get rid of labels altogether. :-)
