Well, she managed to outlast those people that according to you make "REAL DISCO" She's still relevant, she still has a career, and I don't know. Isn't just another nostalgia night piece.
The whole album is great, one of my favourites. Love the disco era though I was too young at that time. But I grew up with that sound from my parents record player.
OMG! My gay anthem....going to the clubs in NYC looking for that one night love affair..LOL....Man those were the days...Cher doing the hustle..OMG! LOL
Just watch both singers with this song, but in a live presentation, with Sophie is really nice, really really good job, but with CHER is just amazing. better
as sad as this is i didn't even know this was a cher song i only ever knew the sophie ellis bextor version, i think sophie does a good job and a great tribute to cher, i like sophies vocal more but i like chers instuments more...
Exactly, for one in Sophie's version she is singing different lyrics than in the original by Cher. Also Cher's 70's version has real instruments, as oppose to Sophie's which is entirely toooo electronic sounding, which is very now and very European, but sooooo BORING lol.
This is from Cher and other Fantasies special I beleive .If anyone knows where it is available especially the opening number where she sings taint nobodys business and traveles in time in Bob Mackie creations .THE BEST
thnx for posting this vid. I been searching it for the rest of my life. I watched the remake frm Sophie Ellis Bextor. It was good n I enjoyed the vid. Later, when I watched the original vid, I realized that the SEB remake had some sort of copycat the original vid. Haha. It's a proof that Cher is the icon for every single living person in the world today. Go, Cher, go!
Originally, Cher was suppose to record "Bad Girls". A song that was written by Donna Summer. But Cher past the song and let Donna recorded her version
Are you Sure!! Hope so -- gonna go buy it RIGHT NOW!!! Memory getting tricky -- I remember it being on CBS, but,,, if it is THE Special, then, no problemo~!~!
So much grace, elegance, style and classic, Modigliani-esque beauty. She still eclipses all her contemporaries, past and present. Fabulous, eternal Cher. Thank you for this post. Is this from "Cher...Special"? If so, I would love to see the opening number!!
Yes she was wonderful on this special...speaking of grace...I remember her talking about filming this and when she slid down that one dancers back when she is standing on the platform she slipped and fell backwards on her ass! One of my favorite songs she has sung and a great special. Had Lucy and Shelly Winters as guests plus Elliot Gould.
Okay, thank you. I remember watching this show when I was a kid and the only thing I remember was this song and her clip with Shelley Winters. Wasn't she in a hotel or something and every door she went through was a different song/skit??
YESS YESSS~!~!~!~!~! I remember this show, and have been looking for it ever since the advent of video tape!!!!! The one segment that stays with me was done to Bob Segers "Feel Like A Number", and I think it was Gregory Hines' feature!!!!
Wow !!!! Is this show available on dvd and what is the official title?
Why doesn't anyone ever compliment Cher on her singing? I think she is one of the most amazing vocalists. Her voice is so unique. But she never gets credit. Even she has said other singers don't consider her a singer. She's not just a legend for her looks or fashions or changes. It's the singing too.
Cher's amazing. they just don't want to admit it. Just like Donna Summer, i think Cher is the most underrated singer out there but people know how great they really are.
I've been looking for the video to this Cher song for ages! it's unusual, as you don't see a lot of her face, but the vocals and funky late 70s melody is second to none! thanks for putting this on, you rock.
I prefer Sophie Ellis Bextor's version...

Are you crazy? You can't compare one song from the 70's with one from 2000's. It's silly.
