  • try to roll through more when you go in releve and what not =]

  • :O CARPET!!!

  • you shake way to much to be doing that at home. You are only suppose to practice in the studio unless told otherwise. Also never EVER on the carpet.

  • don't dance on the carpet in dangerous... but good job.. i like it ;)

  • WHat kind of shoes are these?

  • @TheFabulousAmanda These shoes are Capezio student Cerrito made in Brazil. They have the shank very soft for begginers.

    Thanks for watching!

  • @dylade Hi :) I thought they take shoes with harder shanks for beginners, so their feet don't "flip over".

  • those shoes look comfy :D

  • dont do it on carpet it can tear up the point and u might want 2 do it in a bigger space lol but good job(but ur prob better sence this is an old video)

  • no!! dont do it on carpet!! that happen to me they got all torn up

  • don't do that on the carpet it will rip your shoes

  • mine ripped cause i was using them on carpet =[

but they'll still be okay i think.

  • prestale mucha atencion a tu pie izquierdo. suerte.

  • don't listen to people that say don't practice on carpet and you shouldn't practice on hard wood either unless your at dance class or on stage you shouldn't even use new shoes at home you should use old ones cause my dance teacher won't let us wear them at home but i used to use my tap shoes but since you posted this i watched it i watch pointe videos but it looks good your shoes seem close to dead or they are dead but i don't know everything they might just be very broken in

  • @tdsmeg4

you idiot u should never use them on carpet and you cna wear them at home the dance studio isnt the only place to dance i guess sense you said Don't listen to people who say not to use carpet you must dance on carpet.stupid idiot

  • @Ilovepointe134 Dude, i made that comment a long time ago before i started pointe and ok i know not to use them on carpet now and i can only use mine at the studio i only use my old ones at home or i'd be so in trouble so stop calling ME the idiot

  • same here the last time i took ballet was in 1999 early 2000 im 13 now and have just started point some places dont make you take however many years off pointe like my place you have to be 12 or over and have very strong ankles and the first half off the year is all ballet

  • i have a few questions because I'm about to go on pointe and i need to know about pointe shoes. I have heard that they are comfortable(the brand) is that true? Is it better just to buy a different pointe shoes? If so what kind? Lastly do you recommend them? If not why? Asked to anyone who sees this. ANSWER BACK ON MY PAGE BECAUSE I WILL FORGET THIS EXACT VIDEO! I will be asking other people just to get a group result.

  • In truth, pointe shoes are different from regular shoes. One brand doesn't really fit everybody's foot. If the shoe fits, don't buy it in every brand because every shoe brand does it differently. Go to the place that is recommended the most. Make sure that they measure the width and length of the foot. Let them watch you go up to make sure you're ready, and to make sure they fit. Good Luck!

  • Thank you very much for the comments. This video is very ancient. I need to do another one, I guess I improved a lot since them. Thanks again and have a wonderfull 2009!

  • that is the most amazing pointe shoe video I have

ever seen , you are awesome!! thoes shoes look

amazing on you! please do more.

  • I just started on pointe and my feet are in a state! but you r really good!

  • Carpet is bad!!! But You could pretty up your garage and practice there and get a Bar and a mirror at your hight. I do that and a few of the neighborhood kids come over to see me practice because I have never done ballet ever but I grasp it so very well. and the little children just play with my pointes because they're red and it attracts their little eyes they're so cute both the children and the pointes LOL

  • This year is my first year on pointe. In a few days I have my first pointe recital!!! YEAH!

  • more turn out.

    don't practice on carpet.

make sure you get all the way over on the tip of the shoe (point your foot more).

and for when you start actually turning and such you might want to get mole skin for the tips of your shoe. it helped me when i first started.

  • do you have a suede tip on your shoes?

  • i think you are doing good, i just started to dance on pointe too, i totally love it =)

  • looks a bit clumpsy.. sorry

  • oh hun i wish u didnt do all that good work on a carpet.good job for so little time-kayllee

  • y shouldnt you pointe on carpet????????

  • A BIG no no don't do pointe on carpet

  • you have nice feet but those shoes do nothing for them.

  • Thats good, my suggestion is moving the mirror befor it smashs :)

  • great video wish you all the best for your future and dancing x

  • I love this video, the mirror in the back is awesome

  • Hi ThePerfectionistDK. Thanks for your comment, but not all the persons here were rude. I received good comments too and Incentives. Some people on youtube think they can say anything they want. I don´t care. I made this video a long time ago. I improved. Thanks for watching!

  • You don't have to thank me! I am just so extremely tiered of all the amateur dancers on Youtube talking bad about others. That is why I used such a harsh language! I am a professional dancer at The Danish Royal Ballet.

With all the self-proclaimed ballet-geniuses, we must be able to form "The Youtube Ballet Company"! Hihihihi! :D

One of my dance teachers once said: Ballet can be your life, but just as life, not every second it pretty! :)

Just practice and have fun! ;)

  • Alle of you posting mean ccomments - IF YOU ARE SO FUCKING GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD WHY THE FUCK AREN'T YOU PRACTICING INSTEAD OF SITTING HERE TALKING YOUR SHIT?????????

  • you really dont need to swear you know there could be young kids watching this.

  • Yah I've been dancing ballet for 7 years and I actually just got my 1st pair of pointe shoes today!!!!! Your doing really well, but u should try to break them in a little more, thats what I've been doing all day!!!!! lol

  • u shouldn't do that on the carpet

  • okay you are really good at borreas.... they are one of the things i cannot seem to perfect on point care to give a tip or two?

  • this is realy good for someone who had only 4 lessons!!!!!!

  • Thank you very much for your nice comment. Have a nice day!

  • thnx!!!! have a nice day too!!!! :)

  • well for only four classes your doing pretty good. Your getting over your box better than most beginners but be careful not to fully rely on holding on to something and try not to jump so much on pointe when going into your echappes and into fifth. But your doing great so far.

  • You are doing great! Just one thing, make sure when you are in your susu, that your left foot is over the box and not sycling. Keep up the good work!

  • i am almost on pointe 2!! in like 1 year or less!

  • youre really good! just watch that mirror =] ive been on pointe for a while now and you are coming along great =] good luck in the futuree

  • daanceeee you should sign up for ballet its reli good ive been doin it for about 6 1/2 years and on pointe now

  • i been a ballet dancer foe 8 yrs now... your good. next year ill begin my pointe classes

  • Hi Hope797, thank you very much for your sweet comment. Good luck on your pointe work too!

    Best wishes,

    Dylade

  • your a beginner? how long have you been doing ballet for? im thinking of signing up(:

  • I used to have ballet classes 9 year ago, that time I did 6 years, just a few in pointe. Now I´m getting back, I´m practicing for almost two years now, and one year in pointe.

Tanks for watching and for your comment.

    Best wishes,

    Dylade

  • You're awesome! The only problem is that it looks like your shoes are dead. The way you can tell is that your foot in the box is whats called 'knuckling', where it goes forward. Also, it looks like the shank is over-pointed, meaning that it is broken. You are a beautiful ballerina though!! Great job!!

  • Thank you very mcuh for your comment. I wish you all the best.

  • u should make ur poise more graceful... when ur pointing, ur feets are shaking....

  • My feets are shaking, because I was tired after 3 hour classes, and I am a beginner. I´m not perfect, come on everybody, give me a chance.

Thank you very much for your comment.

  • i think you did really good! yeah plus your dancing on carpet, and thats hard to dance on. i can tell your very strong, you broke the shank in both shoes! lookin good<3

  • Thankyou very much for your comment. I don´t dance on carpet anymore, it was just my first time and I had no other place to make the video. The shank of this shoes were very very soft. thanks for watching. God bless you.

  • it's about way more than just you're feet! Pointe is about you're whole body being properly supported on top of those pointe shoes. So for you're next video i would recommend that we can see your whole body.

Other than that, i can tell you're not really using you're turnout muscles, it's a bad habit to get into, trust me i've done it! But nice feet.

  • Thank you very much for your super wise comment. Have a nice day. God bless you!

  • roll through ur feet! also make sure ur distributing ur weight evenly cause at one part in ur echape`s ur rolling more on to ur pinkey toes and that can cause damage..but for just starting out NICE JOB!

  • iluvamedic: Thanks for the advice. I will try. I hope to see your videos here too.And I´m sure you are a really perfect ballerina.

    Best wishes,

    Dylade

  • uh. . . you really shouldn't be dancing on carpet. . . otherwise that was very beautiful!

  • As I said previously: I made the video before I knew it was not good to dance on carpet floor. Thank you for the advice and comment, and thanks for watching.

    Best wishes,

    Dylade

  • Thats really good for just 4 classes! Your feet look beautiful in those shoes!:)

  • Hi danceillusions13. Thank you very much for your nice comment.

    Best Wishes,

    Dylade

  • what shoes you got??

    and your on carpet :P

    very nice i like :)

  • Hi Becca! Thanks for watching and comment.

About the carpet, this video was made before I knew the danger of dancing on carpet. Now I know and I don´t do this anymore.

    Kisses,

    Dylade

  • wow you look relii gdd!

wot type of pointe shoes are they cos they look relii nice.

i think it would of looked better if u had more space.. but gd

  • Olá Rita,

    Obrigado por seu comentário.

Minhas sapatilhas são Capezio Estudante Cerrito made in Brazil.

    Feliz Ano Novo!

  • ok

    isto foi estranho

eu mandei uma mensagem em ingles e respondeste-me em portugues. iupi! sera que finalmente encontrei alguem de portugal no youtube que tambem faz ballet??

    diz que sim

  • wonderful video!

  • Hi Kiki,

Thank you very much for your comment and Happy New year!

  • just wondering, why can't you do pointe on carpet? i kno u can't but why?

  • Because the carpet makes a lot of friction, and this can make you sprain your ankle. It´s a matter of safe ty. Thanks for watching!

    Best wishes,

    Dylade

  • ah i see. thank you! no one ever explained why, just not to.

  • your feet look almost exacly like mine in pointe shoes, I think we're long lost sisters.

    -Peyton

  • Hahahahah! That was funny! Thank you Peyton. I would like to se a video of your feet too!!!Hugs!

  • hey ur rele goood for a beginner.Ive beenon pointe for two years and have seen a lot of beginners come into my class and your almost the best one ive seen!!

  • Yeah you really REALLY shouldnt do it on carper sweetie. Ur gonna hurt yourself or possibly not land right, mabey just do regular exercises, this is m,y 4th year and believe me landing wrong is no joke. OUCHIES

  • Quite good...keep it up! I'm not sure if it's carpet you are dancing on but if you do anything on pointe never do it on the carpet!

  • Hi! Thanks for your comments. Yes this floor is carpet. I now the risks but I have no other type of floor in my house, so it was just few seconds for the video, no pirouettes, o other dangerous things. Thanks for watching!

  • HI..you could do your pointe exercises in

the bathroom or kitchen if they are rooms without carpet. That's what I did when learning.

    Rhonnie

  • I just looove your shoes<3<3

  • Pointe is so hard when you're first starting, isn't it? You're doing great.

A great help to improve your arches is to lay on the floor on your back with your toes underneath the couch (if your couch is low to the ground). It forces your foot into a good pointe and doesn't let it drift. You don't even need to turn your feet out to do it, either, just keep them parallel.

  • you look good in your shoes

  • you have really good arches and feet, but try not to jump onto pointe! very good for a beginner

  • Don't jump onto pointe in your echappes. Skim your toes on the ground.

  • wow this was good your obvioulsy talented , but like any dancer there is still room for improvment you should try to turnout a bit more and close your fifth other than that real nice good luck!!!

  • Pull up more!

But you look good for a beginner.

  • beautiful arch. it appears as though your right foot is stronger, or at least more dominating that your left. I had the same problem too. I was much more comfortable relying on that leg. regardless, great progress for only 4 classes. keep up the hard work!!!

  • Nice arch!

  • please tell me what type of shoes those are !

they look so beautiful on you

  • These shoes are Capezio student Cerrito made in Brazil. Thank you for you compliments.Sorry but you have a bad nickname, heheheh!

  • when u do ur susu (dont know how 2 spell it) u need 2 cross ur feet more

  • verry pretty!!

  • when you go into the wrap position, make sure that you push your heel forward... like at 18 seconds into the video. but this is really good! you have great feet.

  • pretty good for four lessons! just work on your landing, and it'll look great!

  • your a good begginer. I got my first points two weeks ago! im horibal at it!

  • Yes try really hard to roll throu your feet when landing and i sugjest trying to get "over" your shoe more other that that great job keep up the good work!

  • That's really good for only four lessons. :D Just be careful doing pointe on carpet, and try to put more weight on your big toe rather than your pinkie toe.

  • very nice job for only four lessons. you have a good arch that you can work with. the only suggestion i have is try not to go on the edge of your shoe. try to lean towards your big toe when on point. and your box is a little bit too narrow for your foot. i reccomend trying another shoe!

  • Very nice job for four lessons! Watch your back foot in sous-sou - you need to turn it out a bit more. Also, the box of your shoe looks way too narrow; I'd recommend that you buy a pointe shoe with a slightly wider box for your own safety. Dancing on a box that's too narrow could cause you to develop bunions, and also cause other injuries such as torn ligaments in your knees. Try looking into Grishko, such as the Elite. Lovely job! You're very talented!

  • i love your feet!

  • Aw, very good for just four lessons. The only thing I can say is make sure that you know where you're going. If you want to go to fifth, for example, close fifth not third. If you want to go to first make sure that your heels touch. Other than that very nice !

  • argh im cringing! but not because of your feet! because of the mirror! just had visions of it falling lol

But anyway you rolled a little at the start and ur jumping onto ur pointes a lot but apart from that very well done!

  • try to roll into you echeppes instead of jumping..but your feet look really good! your all the way on your box!

  • your feet look good

  • Hi dylade!!!ur great...you sure are a great dancer as a beginner in using pointes!!!

  • Beautiful close up!

  • hey thanx 4 the wee msg u sent me :)

you are doing wel for a learner and your shoes look nice on your feet.

you jumped into second instead of rolling through it but you had limited space so i'm sure you don't always do that.

keep posting your vids...it would be nice to see some more :)

  • (sorry I commented to this one after the other)lol but anyway...on your echeppes, don't jump as much, roll through into second. but it's only four classes I'm impressed and wouldn't expect more, but it's just a few notes for you to take in :) also, you aren't sickling to koupe back, but you're not pointing as much as you could. keep it up!!!

  • your feet look beautiful! but just like everyone else is saying, make sure you get in a deeper plie going up and down from pointe. but your feet look very strong and flexible! awesome job!

  • Yeah, I agree with the person below me,

plie the second you come down from pointe.

but other than that, great feet. You have a really nice arch

  • Make sure to use your plie in everything you do. I know you're just starting out so it's a good habit to form early. When you're en pointe you want to take as much weight off your ankles/feet as possible so by plie-ing deeply and lifting up when you're doing those echappes you will use your legs and not your feet! Keep up the good work :)

  • youre doing awesome. great feet!

  • Thanks ballerinaprincess07!

  • they look great..are they russian pointes?

  • Thank you! Actually they are Capezio´s student Cerrito, made in Brazil, that´s where I live.

  • you have great feet, i envy you. i have been cursed with low arches and inteps. :(

  • keep up the good work!

  • I think you have the potential to become a really good pointe dancer. Just make sure you go all the way over your boxes.

  • Very beatiful! Gread vid :-)

    You're doing very good!

  • I don't know if it's just the lighting but your shoes look VERY well broken in an used, but try it on hardwood floor because it will get you used to the studios. But good work!! I don't do pointe yet...but I might start pre-pointe soon!!

  • I was just playing playing when I made this video, in my house I don´t have wood floor. I Know carpet floor is not good. Next time I will film in ceramic floor. Thank you for your comments.

  • New pointe shoes always look gorgeous! I don't do pointe but i thought it was good! I wish I could do that!

  • Thank you for your comment. I hope you begin in point soon and show us your video.

  • You're good for only four classes! And those shoes look really good on your feet. Keep it up.

  • Thanks for the incentive! This shoes are Capezio Student Cerrito (made in Brazil)

  • your feet look pretty!

  • Thank you!How good that you liked! This was my first video.
