One guy shots 7 x and gets called for stalling. His first few shots were very similar to what he was called for stalling (so it's not like he was protecting a lead that is his style). The other never shot and took a chance and doesn't get called.
First of all, they need to redefine "stalling" because those were some rediculous calls. Second, what happened to Luke because I cant find him on Lock Haven's roster page.
luke lanno is 1 of the best wrestlers in southern history and his brother bubba lanno isn't as good as him but they are a dynamic duo lukek lanno has the words of motivation and has the nastiest pump hanlde ver.trust me he did it on me
I think that is the correct call in that situation. Stalemate the first time the offensive wrestler ties up the legs and if he goes back too it then call stalling. Correct call.
I dont see how that was controversial. You ahve to improve when you have the leg elevated like that. Reason being, you can stand their all day till time runs out with a leg. NCAA refs call it quicker than that, and i think it's the right call. Tough way to lose though.
but it should not of been called stalling becuase it counts as atempting a take down which is not stalling, plus luke was the only person to score real points, nick only won through terribly called stalling points
It is not the same situation as attempting to secure a takedown and that was the correct call. there had been a stalemate earlier in the match. I make that same call all the time in college wrestling and it should be called that way in NJ. You just don't see it call enough so you then assume it to be incorrect when you do see it called that way.
some mad bull. lanno should have finished one of those takedowns though...even had the chances...lanno shook menditto's hand on the podium so he's alright by me
thats total bullshit, Lanno was coming up with a single leg, thats not stalling, thats called working to improve your position, Lanno is state champ in alot of eyes.
It sucks when a match is decided by the ref... but thats what happens when both guys wrestle a tight 1 to 1 match. I won't lie the stalling calls were kinda stupid when he had a single in the air but its the right call on the backing up. No doubt though it looks like luke would win that match 9 out of 10 times. tough luck kid.
spataro good job at states son and yes lanno was robbed all menditto did was wait lanno to shoot and was just wrestling with his arms covering his legs didn't do one thing. the fact of the matter is yes, lanno did stall at the end but still menditto stalled for almost the entire match and still he wins... its a shame there are refs that continue to call this biased crowd-controlled stalling rule
he didnt crack shit. lanno got robbed. Im a ref and you dont call stalling while someone is going to granby from the bottom. thats a load of bs. He stalled at other parts but def not there. he is clearly the aggressor all match. mendito has a good defense and he was handed a championship. he didnt score a single point. damn shame
the ref didn't do anything wrong, lanno was backing up and last time i checked thats stalling, then he was just holding on to his leg not doin anything which is also stallin, most ref wouldn't call that cuz there scared but that ref had balls and new what he was doing
no...its a match between two outstanding wrestlers...you obviously are an avid wrestling spectator...keep watching more matches...you'll understand one day....poor luke

Lanno thought he had Menditto at 8:42, you can see him looking around, taking his time - freaky move pulled off by Menditto though.
