it's not in the english version because the creators cancelled it off. they thought it wasn't suitable for the english version and they also thought the music wasn't any good.
Well, there's a whole bunch of strange things with Gagharv on the PSP in the US.
One of which is that if you look for some of the original PC versions of the game, you'll see that it has an interesting AI manipulation system that was not carried over in the PSP versions.
Except in one- White Witch, I think, had a PSP variant of the original game system. But when it got brought to the US, they reprogrammed it to fit the turn based system of the other two.
There are little things in Tear of Vermillion that reference White Witch. And when you meet someone in ToV- you'll realize he was from White Witch and be all 'omg wut?' - They are independent stories, but they all really do draw on each other for little things and clues. Then Song of the Ocean uses both games before it to really finish the story.
Aw well. I guess if it is just little things it won't really matter too much. If I like the games and end up getting the whole seris I can always go back and play them in the right order.
Alright. Sora no Kiseki FC and SC (First Chapter and Second Chapter- and 3rd) make up the story that is 'Legend of Heroes VI'. The story about Estelle, Joshua, Kevin, and Ries is all part of the sixth title of the series.
WW, ToV, SotO- these are the Gagharv Trilogy, another set of stories that are linked together. The Gagharv is made up of ED3, ED4, and ED5.
There are suspicions of Sora no Kiseki (6) having links back to Song of the Ocean (5), which, in turn, makes it part of the Gagharv storyline.
But then it's also suspected that Gagharv (the trilogy is named after the Gagharv Continent) and the continent of the first two ED games are both in the same world. Same with Zemulia (the continent of Sora no Kiseki).
The Doll Knight books from ED5, though, hold a prominent part in Sora no Kiseki, it seems.
omgfloofy is right, the american version of the game was wrong. i just read it from wikipedia. men, i've been dying to play the third one, song of the ocean in my psp, cause i've finished the first two's.
Because there were already three games before it. The first two we've never seen in English (actually, PAL Wii systems have it on the VC- Dragon Slayer: The Legend of Heroes I was released sometime ago) - The second follows up on that. Then Prophecies of the Moonlight Witch is actually Legend of Heroes III. This makes Tear of Vermillion IV, and Song of the Ocean is Five. 3, 4, and 5 make up the famous 'Gagharv Trilogy'. Whether they're connected to ED6FC/SC/3rd though, is still up in the air.
now here a opening that the US need to sell more games. japanese ppl sure know how to mak the game soo interested by the opening that it make me what to buy it lol
As popular as it seems to be, Anime is far from popular when it comes to the video game industry, especially American Mainstream. Falcom most likely cut it out to try and spark the appeal to mainstream, to expand their fanbase.
okay, the opening in psp is better, but no one agreed?anyway,do we have to finish the game to watch the opening, anyway when you will respond I'll beat the game,I'm vesus lord bellias right now,and one more question, loh on psp had the same story or not(tell me the ending)
Actually- I'm more familiar with Sora no Kiseki rather than the Gagharv games, I'm afraid. So I can't tell you that much.
I don't know- I'm torn, because I love Falcom's style with the opening on the PC version- but this is still a pretty opening. However, it is not in the English release of the game at all. They pulled it entirely.
Is it just me, or it's the same song for the anime intros of PSP versions of "White Witch" and "Cagesong of the Ocean" (JP versions)?
Though the anime opening of "Tear of Vermillion" is actually decent compared to the other, the anime openings of the PSP remakes feel cheap and the original openings were way better, especially "Cagesong of the Ocean".
At least, it doesn't feel as weird as the Saturn opening of "White Witch"...
Seriously why this isnt most popular one compare to white witch -_-
i find this chapter almost complete package on it own >.>

I just bought both this and Legend of Heroes III again in Japanese form for my PSP.
I have to have the full versions of both games, and the special scenarios in IV with III's characters will make it more fun.

...which I thought was awfully boring.

This was not on the English version.
21evil1 3 years ago
No, it wasn't. I bet it has to do with some royalties or not willing to replace the music on the opening.
Which makes me sad. It's a pretty opening.
omgfloofy 3 years ago
Additional note- I think the Japanese PSP White Witch and Song of the Ocean have animations too.
omgfloofy 3 years ago
So what is the best order to play the psp games? I just bought the first but should I try and play the second one first or something?
zeldafreak1234 3 years ago
The PSP games? White Witch, Tear of Vermillion, and Song of the Ocean. That's the original order for them.
omgfloofy 3 years ago
So does the story make more sense if you play them that way? Or does it not really matter either way?
zeldafreak1234 3 years ago

I doubt that they changed anything in the story
but I will tell you something
the ones on the psp
1 ,2 and three are not ordered in the right storyline
you will understand what I mean after you finish 3 (song of the ocean)
play it in the official order because you will love it more because it will be kind of mysterious :P

Lord Bellias was a pain in the neck... Octum was much easier for me because I found a tip at neoseeker which made the battle easier.

The PC version is better~
Too bad the US version lacks this intro though...
girianshiido 4 years ago
Agreed. I like the PC version's opening better. But no one had this one up at all! XD; So I felt the need to change that.
Maybe if I can get my hands on a PSP slim with a video cable, I can make a better recording of the opening.
It's still a very pretty opening and all.

well I got the game from the used rack. Still a good game w or w/o the intro. :)

The Japanese PSP release. This comes up after the basic story of Octum vs Bardus.
The PC version has a different opening too. The US PSP version didn't get either opening, though.
