i guarantee you jim that loyalist paramilataries have killed more people because of sectarianism...cmon man.....when are loyalists, not just republicans, going to be labelled terrorists????
He's clearly got a chip on his shoulder that the Catholics have equal rights now. It is quite clear that the peace process in Ireland has been a success. Muslim terrorists on the other hand are fighting for different reasons so they cannot be appeased. Very bad example I'm afraid and shows his true colours.
Jim Allister is immense!! He is the only one who has stuck by his principles and stayed true to his word! Plus he is the only MEP who has done anything for Northern Ireland the other two barely turn up and when they do they don't say anything- check the EU Parliament website and theire speeches for evidence!! If Jim was to be respected for the sheer amount of work he has done in the past 5 years he should walk the European election next June!!!!
"... the right of society to defend itself over the supposed human rights of the terrorist." By which I hope he doesn't mean the human rights of the supposed terrorist.
Yes Jim your so right and I see one of terrorists is back on streets again and he is one of your biggest supporters so are the rest of UDA, the UVF, the Red Hand Command and not forgeting the Ulster young millitants - terrorits all.
If the ideological blinders of this self-appointed representative of "good" and "society" didn't prevent him from only seeing the retail terrorism of others, rather than his and his own government's wholesale terrorism, he'd realize that he is calling for the revocation of his own rights.
Appeasment to terrorist , or appeasment to isreal which commits modern day aparited , illigally occupies west bank builds wall, puts 3 million people under seige bombs air ports and power stations
is not appeasemnt
Or is appeasment ignoring terrorist who are fighitnh to get foriengers out of thier homeland e.g iraq and afganistan
How would you feel if the saudi army occupied america and began taking women at the middle of teh night for interogation and never bring them back
Isreal is defending itself from islamic, extremism, the palestinians were offered their own state in 1936, 1948 and 2000, they refused because they are more concerned in wiping out the legally regonised state of Isreal through hatred towards the Jewish that is embedded inside the muslim holy book. Its people like you that have been fed lies by marxists inside our government and therefore have sympathy for palestinian terrorism.
You think Islamic terrorists really care who is int our Government all they care about id dominating you and your beliefs. If you refuse to agree with them they will have no problem in begeading you. We must defeat them.
"We are in there countries trying to impose our way of life on them, WITH MILITARY FORCE. We need to take a long hard look at what we do, before blaming the reactions of the terrorists."
Judging by how many thumbs down you've received most recent viewers disagree with your assesment and prefer a more hypocritical and unquestioning nationalistic viewpoint... it was a good try though.
There is no comparison between someone fighting over land/rights/oppression and someone who wants to kill you for not wanting to join his religious beliefs!
comon scence is so simple so elemental .pitty that so manny ppl live shelterd&ignorent lives they have to be wowken so harshly . just to defend the right to live
First try to define terrorism, bitch, and be careful so that America's Poodle, Britain's chief terrorist, the launcher of illegal wars based on fabricated evidence and cause of thousands of deaths (Blair) is an exception.
I challenge those who down-voted this comment to define terrorism!
Somehow the subjugation of Ireland was A-OK, and resistance was not? We offered them a means of self-determination which did not involve guns and bombs and guess what—they took it!
Brave man and an eloquent speaker, He's right ! a terrorists rights are secondary to the rights of society to be protected from his evil plans!his rights should depend on whether he respects the human rights of others, if not then NONE should be accorded to HIM!!
The problem is that one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter!
Without doubt, Bush and Blair will be considered terrorists in large parts of the arab world due to the large number of civilians killed in 'collateral damage'
Too right man, I dont know why youve been given a thumbs down. I would be opposed to alot of things the IRA did but their actions are nothing compared to what Britain and America has done.
Unfortunately, most Britons seem unable to put themselves in the shoes of someone else.
If there is no means to self-determination other than violence, should slavery be chosen? If Brussels were to say the UK exists no longer and is really Europe with NO POLITICAL RECOURSE, what should we do? Pay EU taxes, have our savings devoured by Euro inflation, and worship at the altar of EU socialism?
This video hasn't anything to do with UK sovereignty or independence.
I agree to an extent but N Ireland has proven that if you make a list of targets to be met and the terrorists are willing to meet them peace can be found. This is not a statement for appeasment but if you are unwilling to offer any negotiations the terrorists will fight to the last man when they might otherwise have surrendered - in a similar manner look at the USSR and Germany in WWII: both of whom fought much further than they would have had an honourable surrender been possible.
Bush got it right the first time, but then ruined his reputation beyond repair by invading a country that had nothing to do with Al-Qaeda.
Now nobody trusts anything the Bush administration says. It would be best if Dubya continued kissing Saudi booty and calling Islam a "religion of peace", just to dissociate the truth from the neoconservative party line.
As an American I watched the IRA bomb buses and subways throughout the 1980's, the truth is that I always supported Sovereignty for Ireland, But because of their Terrorist tactics/murdering civilians they forced me to speak out against their cause (Smash, smash the IRA! Remember the victims of their Bombs!)
When someone kills 30 innocents and then is released after only 5 years is just ludicrous. The U.K. needs the death penalty for all acts of Terrorism!
I understand your feelings but I disagree with the death penalty for terrorists due to many reasons. It creates martyrs and their numbers increase. Occasionally you can get it wrong and kill an innocent. It strengthens the resolve of other terrorists. If someone isn't currently a danger (in prison) then morally they shouldn't be killed.
I say lock them up and throw away the key.
PS -- I'm Northern Irish and have lived through the troubles.
Isn't this what Bush says? Yet everyone in Europe (and many in the States) hate him. Perhaps it's the way he says it...you know, that Texas twang that makes your skin crawl.
Terrorists don't deserve human rights, but PEOPLE do. Let's not forget that everyone accused of a crime isn't guilty of a crime. They definitely deserve a fair trial and they definitely deserve equal treatment under the law. What they don't deserve is SPECIAL treatment under the law.
Terrorist should never be negotiated with, appeased, or arrested. Just killed. Who dares wins.

This is a road without end, the proverbial slippery slope. It will never bring peace to Ireland. Water

think so.
