I remember when I was really little, I used to always pester my Dad to play video games with me. One day, when he finally gave in, I quickly threw this game into my N64 like it was the greatest thing ever. I asked him what course we should do, and I remember him taking his sweet old time, finally pointing to the little icon of Choco Mountain when it came up, and he said, "Let's try this one!" with a smile on his face.

Got this game in 1999, I was 4 then. Now it's 2011 and I'm 16, and this game NEVER gets old. Got bored of MK wii in like 2 months. This game just has more sentimental value. I still play it on my n64. I'm kinda old school lol, not as old schools a my parents though. I just found out that my mom's favorite game was the original legend of zelda on the nes :o

@Pyro25100 I strongly agree with you all the way except for the Mario Kart Wii part. While I do have that nostalgia side of me for being a 90's kid (being 16 also), I still have the competition side too. It's fun playing on the 64, but being an only child for 10 years really makes you lack that multiplayer experience. To sum it all up, I have to say that new games today are good for remembering the good days or for competition value. Classics are great for nostalgia and just being awesome. ;D

But what about eBay? Playing Super Mario Kart on a real SNES is epic, you have a Blur-Motion feel, especially at Rainbow Road. The SNES-Virtual Console Settings for Wii ruin that. Feel free to buy it on Virtual Console, but the real deal on the SNES is just better in my opinion.

I was 7 when this game came out and man did I love it! Sometimes a friend and me just stayed behind to lay traps for the computers that were racing. We could do that for hours. Haha oh man I miss being a kid so much. Summer holidays, no worries about job, money or education just play video games and skateboard all summer long. Coming home in the evening mom had always made tea and newly baked bread with melted cheese on them.
