Yes.It is footage of someone called Candy Darling, a transgendered person who worked quite a lot qith Andy Warhol and this footage was taken in the 80's as she was dying of AIDS
I have listened to this song, probably, about 5 times & I still cannot explain why I love it lol. To me, it seems like this guy has some previous vocal training, but his voice is definitely... unique... Like I said, I love it, but don't ask me why cause I *still* can't explain it lol
I heard this song on the radio a few years ago and could never remember what it was called. Glad I've finally found it. I haven't laughed this much in ages. Definite contender for the worst song ever. Particularly when he starts to play the piano with his face. At least, I presume that's what he was doing.
Hold your palm over a lit candle. Does it hurt? Of course it does. To feel is to hurt. People aren't crying from a song, they cry because of the emotions it evokes within them. All human experience occupies the same space, the mind, and it's the mind which transports a person to feelings of ecstasy or agony at the slightest mental provocation. Therein lies the power of Art.
please, I've been corrected by people who were ten times the pseudo intellectual you are. If there was any justice in this world you'd be locked in a room and made to read your own writings until you pee your pants and promise never to do it again.
The emperor has no clothes, there is a man behind the curtain, and you are lame. My condolences.
something tells me you already do, otherwise you would not have felt this way... open a door and you will see He was always waiting for you. God bless.
I dont see it like that at all. I see it as a destroyed woman after her child or mother has died and then her rejuvenation through it. I suppose i'm only saying that because my mother is going through it now and i've watched her fall apart and then pick up the pieces again.
Yes, art is fluid. It can mean whatever you want it to mean, and it can change. You as an observer can bring your own perceptions to it just as there is the intent and perception of the artist. That's part of the beauty of art I think.
To me the ending sounds like the voices of all people swelling up from the earth, swirling through the air, and rising up into heaven carrying our cries for the love of god. I listen to this song just for that part.

Sad and beautiful... And the story behind the song is very touching. See the last letter from Candy Darling.

This video in particular is really hard for me to watch. I know too many people, including myself, who are in that poor woman's shoes.

a) rhetorical questions are stupid
b) you write like bad teenage poetry
c) I now feel dumber through pretentious osmosis.

Same here. To me it's like the rush of thoughts within the mind as it dies. All it's experiences merge together in one last rush of understanding.
