I put “ban” in quotes because there was never really an outright ban. It was still legal to own, use, transfer, sell, and buy pre-ban firearms and magazines. The “ban” only outlawed the production and importation.
Throughout the “ban” you could go to shops and buy full capacity magazines and pre-ban firearms legally.
