Hello 384sumac!! Would it be possible to get you to email me the schematics for this mod! I would really appreciate it!! Thank U!!! Daheatmizer@gmail.com
The editing software is setup so that you first select the device, then it shows you a graphical representation of the device to edit stuff. After editing the mod wheel cc number, you have to save that to the Microkey. In the 'Communication' menu, select 'Write Scene Data'.
Not sure how dynamic sustain pedals (yamaha) work plugged into a mono jack, but you can at least test that the editing software changed the cc by moving the mod wheel itself and looking for sustain.
is there a chance you could do this mod using the pitch bend wheel instead? I'm guessing that there would be issues, but without having a go I can't be sure. Only reason being is that i would want to use the mod wheel and the sustain pedal in the same set, without having to go changing CC numbers...
You could, but you can't change the CC number of the pitch bend wheel on the MicroKey, only the Modulation Wheel. You will have to use your host software to convert the Pitch CC to Sustain CC. Also, you might have to remove the metal springs that keep the pitch wheel in the middle, so that you can turn it all the way down and have the foot pedal make it seem like it's all the way up, like in my mod.
It might not be too easy to add a switch, since to change the CC number for Mod to Sustain, you have to program it from your computer using Korg software. It might be easier to make the CC number change using your host vsti software.
Thank you for developing and sharing this mod. I am soon to get a Kork Microkey and will be applying it.Best wishes.

Great job. Thanks for the tutorial!
I tried to "install" on my microKey, but when I change the CC number in the Korg Kontrol Editor software does not seem to work.
I open the V-stack and continues to serve as pedal modulation rather than sustain.
Another thing, the connector of my sustain pedal seems to be stereo. This may be influencing? What should I do? Can you help me?

That really is a very simple mod isn't it. I wonder how hard it would be to add a switch or something to flip between mod and sustain.
