Well yeah no one is of ronaldo or messi's level except ronaldo and messi. Still, Zhirkov has proven that he is second only to Arshavin in terms of Russia's best players. He's been a fantastic back up to Ashely Cole while he was injured and I love seeing him play an attacking role next to Lampard.

he's been getting quite a bit of playing time recently with ashely cole's injury and what not and he's been looking good but personally i liked him in that position next to lampard more. hopefully when cole is fit we'll see something of a zhirkov, lampard, essien combo in the middle, though I always felt essien played his best when along lampard as well. i guess we'll have to wait and see what'll happen!
