between Victor announcing his identity, Albert Miller and Nicholas looking on accompanied by that swelling music...it sent chills down my spine. This is Young and Restless at its finest, and why this show has been number one for 20 something years without interruption to this day...

That's what he did, and why he cried. He DID want to make ammends. He made that clear when he said he wanted to be there for his dying father.

Victor was talking to a man just like himself - a rich, powerful man who is used to giving orders. He was trying to break thru to him.

Victor Newman may be a lot of things but any fan of this show knows that Victor's childhood was horrible & he had it tough growing up but made it his life's goal to over come all that he endured as a small child. His daughters are both sueing him for their trust funds. Victor owns all of Newman, privately & everything is his. These two spoiled brats are now laying claim to this man's fortune while he is still alive?I hope Y&R writers smack those 2 girls down & rule in victor's favor.

@NFitalianGuy, I've had mixed feelings about the kids and the lawsuit. The kids received way more than they deserved. But if family really meant more, why not just settle a long time ago? They are all adults wanting to live their own lives. Save the huge bucks for when he's dead, but offer like $2 million now, so they don't have to be in debt to him. He undervalued their work at the company, but they are doing the same thing to the value of having a father.

close but it is 55 years since he last saw him. victor was born on march 7, 1941, in 1948 albert miller abandoned cora christian (victor), mathew. victor had to go to an orphanage. albert came back in the late 1950s to collect victor with cora but by then victor had fled (he fled circa 1954) albert then disappeared again and this time faked his death. nikki and paul williams tracked down cora in the 80s and she and vic made up beforeshedied. records of the time showed that albert was deceased.

@TigerRingDon Yeah, while living in that orphanage, Christian always hoped that his mother would come back for him but she never did. When Christian was a teenager, he gave up hope and ran away from the orphange to start his life over and changed his name to Victor Newman. Cora told Victor that she always wanted to come back to the orphanage to get him, she really did, but she could never earn enough money to make it happen. Victor understood and forgave her.

@TigerRingDon So when Christian Miller ran away from the orphanage and changed his name to Victor Newman, he was only 13? Wow! I knew he that he left the orphange when he was teenager, I just didn't know it was 13, that is a tough age to be on your own, but Victor said he had a tough childhood.

@pytko3 My Grandfather's oldest brother ran away from the Orphanage when he was 9 yrs old . He made a good life for himself in northern california. My Grandfather & his two sisters remained at the Orphanage. The Nuns who ran it were terrible to the poor kids. When my Grandfather left he had a hard life but worked hard. In later yrs he & my grandmother used to visit the local orphanages & gave the kids toys & new clothes for Christmas. My grandmother couldnt go to the nursery it broke her heart.

Nick has finally met his grandfather from his father's side. Nick and Victoria never met their other grandfather, Nick Reed(Nikki's father), he died before they were born and I think even before Nikki and Victor met. Nikki had a terrible father, too. He sexually abused her. She ACCIDENTALLY killed him when he tried to rape her.

This is the first time in 50 years that Victor has seen his father.

Albert told them that he had no family. The actual truth is Albert Miller wanted no family. To Albert, family is just an inconvience.

Before coming, Victor said to Nicholas,"You don't have the same history with this man. You don't have the same scars."
