Thanks for posting this video. It brought back a lot of long forgotten memories. I first cut my 3d teeth on Imagine 3D way back when it was available for the Amiga.
I got it as on a coverdisk with Amiga Format or possibly Amiga Shopper magazine (those in the know will know it). I learned everything I could about that program and even got a coverdisk copy of it for the PC.
I think I still have them somewhere.
I've moved on to LightWave 3D 10.1 now, but I'll never forget where it started.
I spoke with Mike Halvorson the other day--the chief architect of Imagine and owner of Impulse, Inc. He mentioned that there's still a very active Imagine community in Europe.
You could say that Imagine was the 2nd 3D modeling/rendering software available for consumers anywhere since Turbo Silver was released right after Sculpt 3D, which was the first. My dad bought Turbo Silver 3 in 1990, switched to Imagine in '91 and stuck with it through the end. Now I use Blender. Impulse went on to make casino games after moving to Las Vegas. I think they are defunct now or were bought. The coolfun dot com and igtco dot com domains are no more. :-(
This computer animation I created in the year 1996/1997 with Imagine3D of Impulse.
