  • the song is very amazing

  • He have so nice voice♥

  • The genre of music is folk/bard. Tolkien didn't invent; instead, he just re-instituted it back into the modern ear. That's, nonetheless, not putting his work to shame. In fact, what he did was brilliant. If you've read the novel--or any others of his--you can find a myriad of songs; a character omitted in the films, Tom Bombadil, is the merry man of memory. Tolkien actually wanted to make the entire story a song. In the novel, this is part of a much larger song by Bilbo and is chanted in fellow

  • the dislike bar is twice the length of justin bieber's penis

  • i almost cried when i saw this in the movie for the first time (many years ago)

  • @Crashmastersplat I *did* cry.

  • Alright! Serious discussion! What does it even mean? Why are they cross-cutting between the king eating like a slob and them going to war? Why is Pippin singing in the background? Do you think it's just because it looks and sounds cool/pretty? Or do you think the director actually was trying to say something? Think my children.....think.....

  • epic

  • Its amazing how 1 of the top comments is a direct copy of the description.

Mist and shadow, cloud and shade

    All shall fade

    All shall fade

  • @HermionesMusic you win at the internet, congrats

  • @suleman021 I did not understand what exactly your point is anyway

  • @HermionesMusic such a short lyric sheet, how did it take 1:05?

  • @Crashmastersplat again whats the point:)

  • @Crashmastersplat This song originally called The Steward of Gondor,it is even longer, almost 4 minutes. I think it takes 1.05 because of the way Pippin sings this song. He sings very slow and stops 2-3 seconds at the end of each phrase. I hope this helps:)

  • @HermionesMusic thank you good guy greg

  • Can you put the lyrics?

  • @mariisawsume123 Its in the description! >.<'

  • I get goosebumps everytime i see this! So fitting for the scene!!!

  • Amazing.does anyone know what kind of music this us considered and were to find more?

  • @0ieatdeadbabys this is Lord of the Rings music, and no you cant find more of it anywhere else because nothing is or will be as LOTR :D

  • no he sings BEAUTIFULLY

  • He sings good, actually :333

  • This scene makes me cry

  • One of the best scenes in movie history

  • 0:59 Chop Chop

  • yes, i always found faramir the stronger son, since Faramir could resist the one ring, while boromir could not, while they both would give anything to save their kingdom. it's just where faramir surpassed his brother: he KNEW the one ring wouldn't save their kingdom, but bring it's downfall

  • damn i love and loathe this scene. i love the song, and this scene depicts what a bad leader is all about, sending good men to their deaths for the sake of pride. denethor knew this was suicide, but also knew mordor had a free shot at minas tirith and the entire country from the fortified rivercross. but miserably misjudges the situation by sending so few men to retake the west bank. he literally sends his own son (the better one imho) to his doom.

  • This guy eats like a animal

  • Instead of the usual battle scene where everything is

brutal, & a epic song is playing; when he started singing it

made it sort of, sad.. and more epic xD

  • 51 people got shot by orcs

  • @Mrqwerty2143 but one survived and he was a fighter just like his brother

  • Note to self: Do not blast this song wearing earbuds only to hear very creepy eating sounds right in ears.

  • He needs to learn table manners :/

  • He has such a cute mouth :D

  • i love this movie

  • Billy Boyd was the right choice for Pippin

  • I found Denethor very disturbing in that scene (even more than in all others) but i'd think that was the desired effect.

  • BRILLIANT

  • Luv it

  • anyone know where I can find songs similar to this? With the same feel? I wish this was a full length song.

  • the juxtaposition of these shots is nothing short of a Masterpiece.

  • WTF was he eating? Bloody chicken?

  • @Mrster something like tomatoes i think....

  • @TheOtztafan

That's what I've always thought, but it's extremely red even for tomato juice.

  • This made me cringe in the movie theater.. awkward as fuck

  • damn you walter bishop, thats why you cant have nice sons

  • These movies were so well done! I cant wait to see the hobbit in december!

  • If you all like his singing here (so beautiful and moving, yes?), you should check out his band Beecake! :D<3

  • i cant fucking wait for the hobbit wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo lolollo im such a geek :)

  • @Appleman873 No you're not everybody waits for the hobbit^^ me too

  • @Appleman873 How does being a fan of a book make you a geek?

  • @luclfersangel616 They like something that a lot of people consider "geeky." High fantasy novels, games, etc is turned into a stereotype/stigma of one who is geeky or nerdy. Society would consider "geek" in the reasoning that I love the shit out of some geeky things. I dislike labels. I dislike being labelled and others being labelled. However it's something that was put on people who love certain things. So, he, you, myself, and many others stuck to this stereotype, are geeks.

  • @BMetalBby I'd say LOTR loses it's Geekyness due to the fact that it's a movie franchise to rival Harry Potter [another fantasy movie that wouldn't be considered geeky to love]. Geeks usually love movies not high in the public eye. Just my opinion.

  • @luclfersangel616 But then again; both movies (HP & LotR) came out late 2001, the latter published closed to 50 years earlier whereas HP only came out a few years prior. I think LotR is often viewed as geeky, since it has lasted for such a long time, too. Its fanbase was somewhat regular for many many years even before the movies were made, whereas many just "followed the hype" round Potter (like me back THEN :P) and that's not meant as a bad thing! :) we just love to call ourselves geeks :P

  • @Appleman873 lol! me 2!!!!!!!! i literaly drawing the shadow of saruman RIGHT NOW ;)

  • @luverofone Ditto! :D I just turned nineteen and I love the the books and movies just as much now as I did back when I was 8-10 (if not more so). I really can't believe it was so long ago. AND I'm a girl (most major fans are men). That's not really relevant, but I wanted to say it anyway. ;p

  • @ChibiCheeks101 I just turned 17 and I'm a girl to lol^^ I remember the first time I saw it so incredible then the books -dead- 10x better

  • @luverofone YAY! I'm no longer alone (LOTR fanGIRL power)! I'll never forget the first time I saw them either. *dreamy expression* I read the Hobbit before I saw the movies and then I read the books after Two Towers came out in theaters. People thought I was crazy because I was so young when I read them, but I was determined! ;D lol! And now I hound the actor's as well... :3 Haha! I'm a creeper!

  • @ChibiCheeks101 me too! and those2overthere!

  • @amazinq90 i love pippin to!!!! lol XD

  • 50 people should jump off a cliff..........

  • And he did not even took it to the knee ....

  • Nah bad joke I do have emotions, I like the song didn't mean to offend anyone

  • @goldenchild2735 It wasn't gay. It was beautiful. Men are allowed to sing and not be made fun of. And we got your point the first time; you didn't have to do it twice.

  • @goldenchild2735 You have no emotion at all :s

  • Pay no attention to me or my last comment, I'm an American who is widely impressed with other countrys' accents.

  • I love Pippin, mostly for his awesome accent and amazing singing.

  • My bad guys, Faramir did'nt actually die, i should change it to

R.I.P Denethor: Died at the combination of Gandalf/fire/falling(but mostly falling).

  • am i the only one who laughs hysterically when it shows him eating? :/

  • Justin Bieber has got NOTHING on you!

  • I've got this song memorized..love songs that you can sing without having to have a shitload of special effects just to make them sound good..

  • Did anyone else get goosebumps on "To the edge of night" line?

  • I used to have an arrow to my knee, but then I ate some oranges and it was ok.

  • what a pig. close yer F**ckin mouth.

  • i LOVE his voice !!

  • Any way we can block out the loud noises and music at the end? This would be better if it was vocal only in my opinion.

  • Seriously! this is epic!

  • Thumps up if come here after watching THE HOBBIT trailer

  • The orcs in Osgiliath have so luck hitting Faramir with 2 arrows xD

  • I used to have an arrow in my knee, then I took an arrow to the knee. Now I have not one, but two arrows lodged in my knee at this moment. It fucking hurts.

  • Seriously,

never stop with the knee jokes! ;)

  • Gah this scene always makes me feel really uncomfortable

  • @TheRealBarnez I think your right! It does eem that way!

  • Comment removed

  • I think this small part of the film is amazing, the way the camera flicks from the battle to the king dining gloriously, and when Pippin's song ends a blood colour juice spills from his mouth, as if it was the King's doing. Such good film producing, thank you Peter Jackson (and of course J.R.R Tolkein) for this trilogy

  • @HollieMayWright i feel like an ass for doing this, but i cant help but do it anyways. denethor is a steward

  • @PCHSfootball93 aw thank you :) and you know what I mean ahaha :D

  • denather needs to eat more properly not all sloppy and nasity ewww lol that is the only bad thing about the movie series is denather eating like a fricken pig
