Lynda Stoner, the actor playing the prisoner strung up here, had been very famous as a busty blonde sex symbol in earlier soaps The Young Doctors and Cop Shop and for her personal life (engaged to Derryn Hinch). For this role there were no halter necks or strappy jumpsuits for Lynda and she remained well covered in high fashion gear.
I think you should delete this video, then re-upload it from the latest dvd release. It looks like it's from an old vhs. Surely if you took it from the latest dvd release the picture quality would be much better!
@MaleOrderBride at least in the story of this series, 'lagger' was prisoner slang for 'informant'/'grass'. a 'phantom'something is a mysterious, unknown person. i.e the lagger wrote anonymous notes, no one knew who it was for some time
Oh my goodnesssss that whatherface prisoner officer with the glasses,,...her hair is ATROCIOUS!!!She looks like a smoggie...aside from that, what an amazing clip love it
i was in a post office in Chelsea ,Victoria the other day standing behind a woman , when she spoke to the PO man , i spun-out I knew the voice it was Joyce Barry-Pringle , she looked a bit older (not much) exept her "bob hair" is WHITE !! i followed her up the street , she went into a big house on the waters edge on Chelsea beach, behind the post office...Ha funny.
yes ,she did!! she had a white shirt and grey pants on...i had to phone a friend in Sydney who is half-way throught the box set to tell him !! .... i think you call it "STAR STRUCK" ?
Hi I'm sorry everyone can someone tell me what the big deal was about this show I know it was huge in the us when i was a child, what made this so big? thanks everyone!
What was the big deal? WEll it was cutting edge when it first came out. First soap opera about a female prison. In addition, it included great storylines and fine acting. ALot of the actors were trained. I am rewatching 1979 episodes now and it still stands up well.
I recall seeing the first season here in California in 79-80. I was around 11 and it was on at 11PM. I'm not sure how I started watching but I was hooked, and then after less than a year they took it away :( I am thinking of getting the box set so I can see the entire thing :)
Here in America the show came on around 12am. I was 12 at the time. Amazingly I got hooked. For a long time I thought I was the only guy watching it. Until a teacher mentioned it and I spoke up. Then found out that lots of kids were watching this great drama.
and Bee Smith made a great few special live appearances to meet fans and sign autograths and things for them. I wish they would bring Prisoner back Here !
pcbh is the best love the music in certain episodes. long live bea, sandy, marie, lizzie, the freak, margo, chrissie, cass parker and the rest of the crew
There are a lot of episodes released on DVD already, Abigail. I think early 2008 will have released all 692 episodes out there for us Prisoner fans to buy. Yay! Dazza xx :)
I loved PCBH and watched it all the time! They could be more realistic though... her neck wouldn't break as she never dropped, they just pulled a chair out from under her
AHAHAHAHAHA! here in america when i was 12 this was on every nite at 11pm. I loved it-- me and my girllfriends would discuuss it the day afterwards...o man, need this on dvd thx for posting
She had been "Lagging" on the other prisoners (Presumably the Aussie term for "Grassing") It basically means she'd been telling of them if you get my drift, something you are definatly *not* suposed to do.

I actually went on a chartered diving trip to The Great Barrier Reef with one of the lesser known "background screw" extras...
I had a very interesting conversation with her.
But then she went and laaaged on me to the skipper...
