  • I think that Ruth Dudley Edwards takes an anti-Irish stand on everything just because she seems to really detest her own history and culture. Its amazing that a self-proclaimed Irish woman is more anti-Irish than any ulster-unionist

  • I read online that their are parties planned when ruth dudley edwards dies,so reviled is she by the Irish people..lol lovely stuff !

  • RDE is a tabloidesque parasitic reactionary bigot.

She is as Irish as the Queen of Englands tits.

Looking forward to the day she dies.

  • Does anyone think that Ruth Dudley Edwards' use of the term 'Prime Minister' in place of 'Taoiseach' says a lot about her?

  • Poor Ruth, Jesus who is theis man you can hear the pain in her voice at having to deal with this guy bless

  • My god what year is it

  • Ruth is also infamous for being a critic of film that she has never seen. Not a believable character. pooh pooh here and there. Not in touch with the Irish psychy at all.

  • Now Ruth please.

  • em yeah let me speak we want a full ireland . shut up you stupid woman . The man is very wise

  • ha its not like the uk havent done some really stupid things either . ye stuck up @~?.}+_..... germany will help us because we are good friends :)

  • The UK is 70% in debt.

Unemployment is at 2.5 million pople.

The Uk deficit is 155 billion pound.

Ireland declared independence 90 years so we couldn't interfere in irish affairs.

We didn't bailout Greece because we are not part of the eurozone.

The UK could lose another 1million more jobs.

we are in the worst recession since the 1930's and could head for a double dip.

We did not vote a politicans in to bailout other countries nevermind the banks, we should not give the irish a penny.

  • @youknowimright1 Problem is that ireland is one of the UK's biggest trading partners and British banks hold a shit load of Irish soveriegn and bank bonds/loans and there are a large number of British companies operating in Ireland and vice versa. Ireland collapses => UK takes a massive hit which would outweigh the cost of the loan that they are giving to Ireland.

    Good post though.

  • @maherd8 i lke your counter aurgument but i'm afraid when you say giving ireland te loan will ouweigh the costs, in the short-medium term you would be right, but if you look at this in the long term we would be praying for them to fail and go into the financial abyss, if ireland were to default on there debt then that would effect (the piigs) portugal, italy, ireland, greece and spain, the euro and the eu would fail, one less currency competiter and no eu regulation or membership fee, only gain.

  • @youknowimright1 Okay how do you mean one less currency competitor? Would the Deutsh Mark and the Franc not return if the euro was abandoned?

And if the piigs countries failed wouldn't that result in a much smaller export market => decreasing the chances of an export led recovery for the UK???
