Skated there in '96. I remember our ship pulled in and we headed straight to Raffles. Was there for like half an hour when all the sudden you hear the locals yelling 5-0 and then bolt. We were grabbing our bags when the cops rolled up and asked are you Americans. We said yes then they said do you remember Michael Fay? We were like oh shit sorry we were just leaving. Other than that incident one of the coolest places we were able to skate.

its the old youth park skatepark. its gone now. It used to be opposite youth park.....

they were supposedly *re-making it* but they decided to make a new one at somerset instead so they demolished this one. i think it was about 4 years ago already...

The old skatepark across the street from youth park.

A couple of new skateparks recently opened. One at East Coast and one in Bishan. The one in Bishan is pretty small just a bowl some ramps, couple of quarters and a free open plaza. Whereas the East Coast skatepark is a 'fully-flared' international-standard concrete skatepark.

Take the metro to get to the other side of the country (only about an hour ride) and you can skate all the schools you want......so sick....and I'm sure only a few people have been.

I'm sure there are more Americans now than back when I first started my journey through Singapore. This video dates back to 2004 when very few American families were in Singapore, or they were pretty hard to find, because I saw none. Not talking so much about the American investment there, but more so the tourism. I should have been a bit more clear in the description about this video. Other than that, I miss it there!
