ok so you didn't say what type of dog you had, but we have chihuahuas and my weird experience is ours had 3 but one of them was (I swear) the size of a lab puppy by the time they were a couple months old. Which was weird because the mother and dad was both miniature chihuahuas. LOL please don't call your mom old if she is just 46, because one thing I have learned as I hit 30 this year 40 does not look so old any more.Hugs Evie
