Uk Panthers fan, The 2nd superbowl i ever watched, decided i'd support panthers in this because i was told they were the under dogs. But the courage they showed, and both teams playing a classic, i fell in love with them despite the fact they lost. My favourite super bowl, although last sunday was quite exciting i must say.
I think Jake Delhomme when he was in his prime had the chance to be one of the best QBs,certainly elite. It all came crashing down when he got injured. He never threw the same after that...the balls never had as much touch and his accuracy was horrid compared to this game and its two seasons after.
Compare his throwing before the injury and after...accuracy was really effected.

John Kasay lost this game for the Panthers. After Carolina scored, his final kickoff went out of bounds giving the Pats the ball on the 40. Kasay just went to the sideline and sucked on a Gatorade bottle like it was nothing.
I'm a huge pats fan, but the Panthers earned my respect this year and I've always quietly rooted for them since. The Rams came in thinking they were gonna get crowned a dynasty, and the Eagles came in thinking they were already beat. The Panthers played hard the whole game. Hope they win one in the future.

I still to this day wonder what the Panthers 04 season would have been if Steve Smith had not have gotten hurt in the season opener against Green Bay. Because if you look at Moose's numbers during the 04 season and then go look at Smitty's numbers for the 05 season (playing in a run 1st offense btw) it just makes me wonder what could have happened during that 04 season with both of those guys healthy and Delhomme playing his best ball of his career....Man that would have been something to watch.
