I WAS ON THE TOP deck of a bus to wembley with my mates in the early sixties and remember everyone shouting " look at that geezer in a gold lame jacket ; it was keith out to the shops!! i also remember him hanging out with us in 1961 at the iron bridge and one tree hill Alperton; great character kenny
In the great book "The Lamberts" (hard to find), it says that Kit originally wanted to make a movie about a Brit-rock group, searched Cockney East and South London for a group, found a Mod club with the most Vespas - hence these guys.
-
That explains Kit at the beginning snapping a take.
-
The book says he very soon changed his mind, deciding to manage the group rather than make a film about them. This is a historical film from back in the days when Kit merely wanted to make a movie.
An unbelievable document here! Freaking time machine is blowing my mind. Fender head on very early Marshall cabinet for you gearheads out there. My God, I just heard Keith miss a snare drum hit--I love it! Somehow I am actually wearing a striped top as we speak just like that cat in the audience. Now where is the blonde who may be seen looking vacantly over that guys shoulder? She needs waking up. Well, after seeing this clip, I pretty much have to dance to keep from crying, too.
Wow. I can't remember even reading about this anywhere; where on earth does it come from? A rare rock n' roll artifact - and man, they sound great! Thanks for posting it; long live youtube!
This is the famous Railway Hotel footage from the "Amazing Journey" movie DVD extras. Paul Weller's whole look started here with Roger. Maximum R'n'B, stovepipe trousers, desert boots and Speed!

Song almost dies on the vine at 1:18-1:20 as Townshend makes some adjustments. Funny how he and Moon glance at each other, like "everything OK?"

Keith don't like young in this video. he looks the same as he did in 1973. I mean Pete, John and Roger look VERY young.

MAGICAL! I didn't think anything could top "A Quick One" but this does for me.
Just seeing where it all started is pure joy,the innocence of Keith Moon makes it all the more sad.
Long live the pure brilliance that is the WHO.

probably that´s the smallest drum kit used by keith
this is the proof that they were always brilliant... makes me kind of blue watching them so young and now half of them are dead
another thing is the music they played, beatiful, simple, cool and hip. I wish i was born in those crazy days
