In the great book "The Lamberts" (hard to find), it says that Kit originally wanted to make a movie about a Brit-rock group, searched Cockney East and South London for a group, found a Mod club with the most Vespas - hence these guys.

That explains Kit at the beginning snapping a take.

The book says he very soon changed his mind, deciding to manage the group rather than make a film about them. This is a historical film from back in the days when Kit merely wanted to make a movie.

My God, I just heard Keith miss a snare drum hit--I love it! Somehow I am actually wearing a striped top as we speak just like that cat in the audience. Now where is the blonde who may be seen looking vacantly over that guys shoulder? She needs waking up. Well, after seeing this clip, I pretty much have to dance to keep from crying, too.
