  • i agree with the fact that you shouldnt do only biceps on one day, and then only quads on a different day and etc but if ur doing: Arms on first day, Legs on the next, chest the next day, and then back on the 4th...its fine

  • could ya respong to this question, Say ima do the 3 day split, shoulders trice n chest, you always say 12-15 sets /workout, but if ima do the split do you mean 12 sets a bodypart ? cause doin 4 sets of each muscle grp wont do me no good right ?

  • @thevoiceable They're doing compound movements on most of their exercises. If you keep it to different kinds of barbell presses and stuff for chest/tri's/shoulders, you could potentially only have to do 12-15 sets a workout and still get big because each exercise would be hitting two or even all three of those muscles. If I had to guess, they would say to do chest and tri's or shoulders together 12-15 sets total, then put something else in your split like back or legs another day.

    I'm an 18 year old ectomorph, i'm 150 pounds and 7% body fat, i get around 5000 calories a day (started eating when i started lifting). I go to the gym 4 times a week and normally do 3 bodyparts in 45-55 minutes, so that's (roughly) every bodypart twice each week. so could someone please post me a gym routine? for example; Legs and abs Monday and so forth Because I don't know what bodyparts co-operate, except chest and triceps.

    please tell me if im doing something wrong here, etc.

    chest, shoulder, tric

    bach, bic

    legs

    you do 8-12 sets for big muscle groups, 6-8 sets on small muscle groups, majority of your exercises are compound movements, bench press, dead lift, squats etc..

    you do 6-12 reps, coz its the range where muscles grow the best

    lol 5k calories is wayyyy too much, your gonna get fat, use calorie calculator (google it) and add like 200-500 calories to it, if you dont see any improvements then add 200 calories, STICK TO UR DIET

  • Current split this quarter is: Mon - Chest/Bi, Tues - Legs, Wed - Back/Tri, Thurs - Chest/Bi (again), Fri - Shoulder/Calf. My chest is a real weak point though so I hit it twice. Just my advice though, yall can do what f*ck yall wanna do...

  • I hit a body part one day and another yesterday, and I snapped some shit up. Right now I can't turn my head coz my neck's all fuckt up n shit. That's at least a week off from exercise so not good at all.

  • when working on back and bi's or chest and tri's is there an order you go in? like on back and bi day do you do all bicep exercises THEN back exercises or would it be best to mix it all up? oh and keep up the great videos i cant say how many times you've both saved me from snappin some shit up!

  • @chigatycheckurself finish with bi's and tri's. you dont wanna burn them out b4 you work your back or chest, it will take away strength from your main exercises. Any pushing movement works tri's and any pulling movement works bi's. Like the bench press works tri's along with you chest.

  • I do a five day split, legs,chest,back, day off, shoulders, arms, day off. Keep it short and intense tho, don't feel like I'm overtraining any bodypart by any means

  • To be fair most people who do your "standard" or should i say common, chest/tri's routine hit's a single muscle way too often anyway.

    For example, Bench, Incline, and what ever tricep Iso you're doing is about 12 sets that hits your triceps. Then you're going to hit them again on shoulder day possible making at about 15 sets minimum for triceps alone.

    BUT i guess what you're doing is working right?

    On paper it seems alot, but i feel great and i mostly do compound movements...some isolation, just to burn out my triceps and biceps...and to work my rear Delts...im done in 1.5 Hr + cardio

  • One thing i wonder is. What is your take on weight cutting and which training you recommend? Should you go heavy weights or light weights? High reps or low reps? What is the best thing you can do during a weight cut so you don´t lose any or very little muscle? I see many other there recommend all kinds of shit. But what is the best? Training wise that is.

  • @themoose1986 that was my split until I had schedule change. That is by far the best split. The exact days to. But now I only have 1 hr to workout and get my cardio. So I added an arms day which ha been great two movements for tris. Two or three for bis. My arms are bigger from that split.

  • wat i do is i do my triceps wiv my shoulders,den the nxt day ill do legs or arms and bak, and then chest the nxt day because when i do my chest i do not have the strenth to hit my shoulders and triceps with enough strenth wat do you think? i always keep my pulls and pushes seperate with rest gaps between push and push workouts

  • I agree one muscle a day routine is a big fashion now, I was always against, but its possible that with some guys it can work well. I would never do it, as one day you fatigue one muscle excessively doing 4-6 excercises, and then 7 days NOTHING, so you are causing a NEGATIVE SHOCK to that muscle, but only from time to time! It like running 10 miles but only Saturday.... :)
