@thevoiceable They're doing compound movements on most of their exercises. If you keep it to different kinds of barbell presses and stuff for chest/tri's/shoulders, you could potentially only have to do 12-15 sets a workout and still get big because each exercise would be hitting two or even all three of those muscles. If I had to guess, they would say to do chest and tri's or shoulders together 12-15 sets total, then put something else in your split like back or legs another day.

you do 8-12 sets for big muscle groups, 6-8 sets on small muscle groups, majority of your exercises are compound movements, bench press, dead lift, squats etc..

To be fair most people who do your "standard" or should i say common, chest/tri's routine hit's a single muscle way too often anyway.
For example, Bench, Incline, and what ever tricep Iso you're doing is about 12 sets that hits your triceps. Then you're going to hit them again on shoulder day possible making at about 15 sets minimum for triceps alone.

One thing i wonder is. What is your take on weight cutting and which training you recommend? Should you go heavy weights or light weights? High reps or low reps? What is the best thing you can do during a weight cut so you don´t lose any or very little muscle? I see many other there recommend all kinds of shit. But what is the best? Training wise that is.
@themoose1986 that was my split until I had schedule change. That is by far the best split. The exact days to. But now I only have 1 hr to workout and get my cardio. So I added an arms day which ha been great two movements for tris. Two or three for bis. My arms are bigger from that split.

I agree one muscle a day routine is a big fashion now, I was always against, but its possible that with some guys it can work well. I would never do it, as one day you fatigue one muscle excessively doing 4-6 excercises, and then 7 days NOTHING, so you are causing a NEGATIVE SHOCK to that muscle, but only from time to time! It like running 10 miles but only Saturday.... :)

@somedudey0 It is?...ok...ill take your word for it,but imma continue and see the results, if any...since i have only just started the gym a month now...but i will change things up after a while and see...regarding the 1.5Hr...thats with cardio...i usually put in an half an hour...no sprinting tho...in case you wondering, i do 4 sets of each exercise...couple isolation moves...that with rest time adds up

My split: First day...Chest,Triceps and Shoulders (Front & Side) Next day...Back, Biceps, Traps and Rear delts. Third day...Core and cardio Fourth day...45 minutes Cardio Fifth day....Rest day Sixth day...Legs Last day...Rest
On paper it seems alot, but i feel great and i mostly do compound movements...some isolation, just to burn out my triceps and biceps...and to work my rear Delts...im done in 1.5 Hr + cardio

One thing i wonder is. What is your take on weight cutting and which training you recommend? Should you go heavy weights or light weights? High reps or low reps? What is the best thing you can do during a weight cut so you don´t lose any or very little muscle? I see many other there recommend all kinds of shit. But what is the best? Training wise that is.

@themoose1986 that was my split until I had schedule change. That is by far the best split. The exact days to. But now I only have 1 hr to workout and get my cardio. So I added an arms day which ha been great two movements for tris. Two or three for bis. My arms are bigger from that split.

wat i do is i do my triceps wiv my shoulders,den the nxt day ill do legs or arms and bak, and then chest the nxt day because when i do my chest i do not have the strenth to hit my shoulders and triceps with enough strenth wat do you think? i always keep my pulls and pushes seperate with rest gaps between push and push workouts

I agree one muscle a day routine is a big fashion now, I was always against, but its possible that with some guys it can work well. I would never do it, as one day you fatigue one muscle excessively doing 4-6 excercises, and then 7 days NOTHING, so you are causing a NEGATIVE SHOCK to that muscle, but only from time to time! It like running 10 miles but only Saturday.... :)
