What made Peel so great was his insight, not only into music, but in humanity in general. Walters, meanwhile, his erstwhile producer and companion, was a natural broadcaster. Together, they were a couple of comical deadbeats whose philosophical approach was always refreshing.

Peel and Walters - what a classic duo! Walters Week and the handover to the Peel Show, so long ago and sorely missed.

Just amazing how many fantastic bands got their shot on Peel's show. The Slits session is insane and all these years later it still sounds so great.
