@RustyFishBones Ha, well said. He is half Irish. Father's the poet Cecil Day-Lewis, if you didn't know.  DDL lives in Ireland, where nobody bothers him. I see him, his wife Rebecca Miller (in case you didn't know!) and his kids out and about.

I love the admiration that EVERYONE is showing this man. Each time there's a cutaway to the audience, you can see a glimmer of childlike wonder in each of their eyes. It's wonderful, the appreciation is just beautiful.

Whoa, great speech. Amazing actor, and person in general! He's so eloquent and real. People forget how much tabloid fodder used to creep about DDL in the 90s. He was uncomfortable with it and unlike many other actors, he did something about it. Some actors just whine about their lack of privacy. He vanished off the face of the planet after marrying Rebecca, and he's protected his children from it all.
