  • How long does your twists stay nice?

  • very cool! i will try this

  • dang i wanted to see the finished look

  • How did you stretch it out without blow drying it?

  • What color is that in your hair?

  • I twist it in big twist, and take it down the next day and my hair is usually sretched out. it doesnt happen the same day. it's usally the next day or maybe even the day after.

  • Hi Ddi blow dried and i feel like my hair might have been to soft i use to perm its been two years but some of teh perm is there maybe i hsould have done air-dried hair

  • no, I dont

  • i love your hair nice colour.its so pretty.

  • so is this done with dry hair? like blow dried hair or air dried?

  • air dried hair, but this is about 3/4 day old hair so it's been stretched out.

  • @janeezy01 how do you stretch it out?

  • What product do you use to twist your hair?

  • shea butter or oyin hand made whipped pudding

  • Hi,

You mentioned that you are twisting on a two week twist out. How often do you wash your hair? THX!

  • I made a vow that I would wash my hair every week, lol. but that hasnt been happening. So usually twice a month

  • I'm wondering is you have hard water or not? The problem with me is that I have hard water and that it breaks and makes my hair hard and dry. Did you ever have a problem with the water you used to wash, style, etc. with your hair? If you did, what did you do to help the problem? I really need help b/c my hair keeps breaking.

  • its crazy how all the black people i know, rock when we do our twists.

  • wat is your hair type and hair colour brand!? its so pretty!!

  • this helped so much thx:)

  • How do you gather your hair to twist so close to your scalp? I have tried to do that but I still have a lot of puffy roots. Any advise would be helpful? Thanks

  • nice vid. i liked the style but my hair is too short. it looks like colio, ya know,

  • i have a question... My hair is naturally curly but my mother (who's a hairstylist) used a relaxer on my "ringlets" now it's stright, so my question is my roots are beginning to grow out now, will my hair stay twisted even if the roots are curly and the ends are straight?

  • ErinnAri---I didnt see a response to you but wanted to comment-natural hair holds but when you have the 2 diff textures like that- your straight hair is not going to stay- youd have to secure it -

  • thank u so much 4 d video i've been wantin 2 learn how to twist my hair

  • Do you blow dry your hair first before you twist?

  • no, I used to the first year I went natural. It looks blow tried here because this is like a 2 week twisout that's been stretched out. this is when I like to do my small twist because there's not as much shrinkage

  • da twist is cute

  • I agree, twisting from the parts make it easier.

  • how long cud i leave in a twist so it doesnt turn2 dreads and wut do i not do 2it?

  • it really depends on ur hair type. Someone ppl can have their hair matt in a matter of months, and others it takes longer. pay close attention to your hair, if it starts to matt or look like is going to matt I would go out and wash and take them done. The longest I've went with twist were about 3 weeks. I could have went longer but I just couldnt take it anymore. I missed my big hair. lol

  • oh ok thxx

  • I love your hair color!! Did you do it yourself? Tell me your secret!!

  • no, I went to a salon and got my color done

  • I absolutely love your hair! you are my hair idol! but i have a question: i had been checking out your fotki page and noticed that you dont use very many products in your hair(very admirable). Is it true that you only use water to do your twist outs?

  • that's true. I dont use many products at all. I need to update my products because alot of those I dont use anymore.

I now real mayo as a prepoo

I co wash with V05 moisture milks in strawberry

    shea butter

    castor oil

    vegetable glycerin

and another conditioner I like is aubrey organics

oyin handmade (though I havent really used it in the past 2 months)

I will experiment here and there but these are my staple products

  • Could you tell me where you purchase your shea butter?

  • Can u do a vid on how u flat twist ur hair, i seen ur pics on fotki and i though they were so cute!! When u lost the weight did u experience negativity or haters lol from friends or famliy?? Or people who wasnt happy 4 u and how did u handle it?? Thanks so much!!

  • YES! I experienced HATERS AND NEGATIVITY.

some of my 'friends' didnt even acknowledge my weight loss. and its like like I need them to validate me, but friends are suppose to be encouraging. I had some ppl ask me if I was starving myself. what size am i trying to get to b/c i'm losing too much weight. it was crazy. lol. i stayed positive. and I know what I want to look like and I'm much happier this way. I want to be healthy

  • I noticed while admiring your hair that you had lost weight! Keep encouraged, you and your hair look great!

  • have you ever used ic fantasia olive oil serum? if so , how did it work for your hair?

  • no, i havent. sorry

  • did uever use castor oil?

  • Thanks for the video janea

  • do you blow dry your hair before you twist|???

  • no, I twist on hair that's already been stretched out (for example, banding, or just bigger twists I had prior)

  • Nice!

  • what color is that on your hair? Colored at home or at a salon?

  • I have a short video that I discuss the hair color called random if u wanna check tahat out but. Its 7BN by goldwell and it was done at a salon

  • One more comment do you stretch your hair with bantu knots or bands will you do a video on how you stretch your hair? (sorry if you've already answered that question didn't mean to ask something you've already answered)

  • I stretch my hair with big twist. So after I wash my hair I put it in big twist. Usually about 10. And let it air dry. Then I well take each one down and break it off into two. So now I have 20 twist. (im only guessing). The next day I will just rock a twist out and then that's when I will twist because that's when my hair is stretched out the most. I hope that makes sense.

  • Thanks for the video very very nice video tutorial and video it's lit well, so clear.

  • Did you blow dry your hair first?

  • no ma'am, I twist out hair that's already stretched.

  • Thank you for the vid Janea!

  • Do you want or ever think about locing your hair?

  • Good video

  • Nice video, I gonna try twisting on dry hair. Are you going to make a video of your twist results?

  • no, only because I posted a video a few weeks back with twist in my hair so everyone could see me with them.

  • Thank you for posting it...it was very helpful. You seem so sweet and down-to-earth. Keep the video coming! :-)

Did you blow your hair out a bit before twisting and did you use any mosturizer?

  • DO you add any products to your hair before you twist it?

  • no, I just put on oil on afterwards

  • you have so much hair...wow :D

  • Pretty and love your hair color~

  • How long do you keep thee twists in and do you wash while they are in? I'm on the 100 Day Challenge (blackonyx77) and I want to do my own hair, but I don't want to take them down until the end of February. Please advise.

  • I will keep them in for about 3 weeks or so. If I have my twists in for longer than two weeks I do wash them but its more like a rinse per se. I concentrate more on my scalp then getting my whole entire head soaking wet. to do this I put my twists up in about 6 sections and then put the shampoo on my scalp and begin to massage and work it thru. You can keep ur twist in for however long u like, just make sure you keep them washed/rinsed.

  • I like your hair color and the way you twist with out using the comb to part in the back. I have to try that way and see if I get a better result than what I'm getting now.

  • let me know how it works for u

  • Nice twist...how long do you keep your twist in before you wear a twistout?...I'm 2wks in with my twist and thinking I might take them out next week and rock a twistout but I'm wondering if my hair will loc if I don't take them out soon.

  • it really depends. But normally I keep them in for about 3 weeks if I'm doing them small like you see on the video. Sometimes I do them alot bigger with a lil water and take them down the next day. depending on the texture of your hair it could start to matt/lock together after about 2 months or so. but just make sure you are washing/rinsing your hair in while you have the twists in for an extended amount of time

  • Your twist are really nice and I found your video very helpful. Your hair color suits you nicely. Did you color it yourself or was it professionaly done?

  • professionally done, I dont trust myself like that. lol

  • do you use any products on your hair when you twist? Btw, nice glasses!

  • thank u! I dont use any product while twisting because my hair is still pretty moisturized from the day before (I only twist on previous stretched out hair). But when I finish I will take some a dab of oil (like extra virgin olive oil or almond oil or coconut oil) and rub it in my hands and then apply it to the twists.
