I go to Mayfield, and I love that people can be openly gay here, as opposed to some other local schools that have huge problems with homophobia. I'm so glad I get to be a part of a supportive community like that.

And Jonathan, I'm not gay, but you inspire me so much. You show people every day that it's okay to be yourself. :)

In high school till about this year fully. I hated gay people. I was disgusted by them. I just didn't understand. I was ignorant. The show 1girl5gays changed me. Jonathan is the reason I like gays now. It was just amazing how this man is just a good person. He's a good person before he's gay. He loves people before he loves men. He will smile before he frowns. He will love before he hates. So I'll never judge again before I understand.

I met this guy on boxing day. Going to Starbucks and I went to hold the door for this guy. But he held it for me instead. With a giant smile. He was wearing sun glasses. But that smile got me. This campaign and the suicides in the US have motivated me and my friend to try and raise awareness about homophobia and its consequences at our anglican, all girls high school. Though i'm sure it's not going to be easy, it's videos like this, campaigns like this and people like you that spark change and start movements.

You are truly an amazing person. You are SO real. I completely assimilate with you going to Mayfield. It was one of the best decisions I made in my life. It showed me how to be creative and free spirited and allowed us to indulge in ourselves and be vulnerable. I am happy to inform you we have a 'Gay-Straight-Alliance' group called "Mayfield Youth Beyond Barriers" and meet regularly. As I am a graduate now, I have grown so much in those 4 years. Thanks for making this amazing video.
