@Cagliostro81 the movie has not, Big west, ADV and Harmony Gold got into a big argument over it. Big west thinks tehy have teh rights to it, Harmony Gold supposedly gave ADV all things Macross excpet their Robotech show.... and the Japanese courts have ruled in favor of their own countryment just because they can.

You are correct. The art of animation is fast dying in favour to shitty CG which looks dated after a few months.
Nothing beats the layers of parallax, shading and the hand drawn Itano circus in this film.
'Honest skill' is a damn good way of putting it. The passion and satisfaction in knowing that every single cell was hand drawn! That's beautiful!

It's been out in the US on dvd for close to ten years now, if you want it dubed go for the ADV version of it.
