"Ninja Masters" came out at a time in the mid-1990s when there were other more popular fighters on the arcade scene. It kind of got buried amidst the other titles.

But, its still a good 2D fighter. Good combos in this video!

@milesthefox90 Some say it's this, some say it's World Heroes Perfect, some say it's World Heroes 2 and some say it's Twinkle Star Sprites.

In the pre-Neo-Geo years, perhaps Battle Field / Time Soldier and some Champion Baseball titles were their best. If you dislike the bullet hell factor of Ninja Combat, you probably would prefer Gang Wars.

I remember seeing this game in arcades. Thought it was quite a charming and fascinating game with all sorts of character types based on Japanese (and possibly even Chinese and Tibetan) history and literature. The whole game had a rich traditional East Asian flavor, and the characters were fun (though a couple of them were probably just too powerful). I particularly liked the old wizard who used paper charms and the swordslady with a white snake. Kinda sad this title never quite took off... :(

That's a definite conversation piece. This is definitely a wicked game, and I thought it had the perfect balance of fighting and gore. Incredibly broken, though.
