It doesn't, there's more debris coming from the ships in the beta. :)

I could guess they didn't want that much due to lag and performance issues but it definitely looks to be more in this video than what we have now.

You don't have to be jedi.

Ship customisation:

- reverse engineered (REed) looted unique or crafted engines (top speed, rotations, consumption)

- REed guns (5 pvp levels, 10 in total) with different effect

- different kinds of missiles

- REed/crafted shields and armor of different levels, hitpoints, mass ....

- reactors, capacitors, droid interfaces, boosters, countermeasures

You are limited by ship's max mass, and your reactor power. You can experiment in these limits

Yes, you can paint mostly all of the ships. Except Imperial ships. You know... Emperor likes to keep order and uniformity, even in his squadrons. :)

But all other (Rebel, and Neutral) ships can be painted to various colors, and can have some cool looking textures (as decorations) outside of the chassis.

All ships have their own hyperdrive. While in space you choose a Hyperspace menu, select the planet, and its sector where you wish to jump, then the computer calculates your route (25%...50%...75%...100%...5..4­..3..2..1..JUMP), then you can see a very cool animation from cockpit view, then you see your ship jumping away from that sector. After a short loading the program switches also to cocpit view, and you can see the animation of arriving from Hyperspace.

(So you cannot fly directly between planets. Except Corellia and Talus. These two planets are in the same sector, and you can travel between them.)
