no oil and 1,5K RPM? Isn't that damaging the transmission?
doesn't sound like it's centered right. Even with that kind of coupler it should be within 0,05 mm of the centerline of the transmission shaft for good performance and quiet operation. (I'm using a similar, smaller coupler - and a 24 lb permanent magnet motor)

oh and get a 100-150W portable halogen light for filming in the garage ;)
Without any load on the transmission a short run isn't going to hurt anything. Yes, there is a little miss alignment. Ben didn't have the good video setup with him he only shot a little video with a consumer still camera. We shimmed the motor a little and got it better aligned. Aside from the noise, we can look at the current being drawn to figure out when the alignment is correct - Thanks Tom B.
Sorry for the quality on this one! I only had my point and shoot digital still camera, and it was really dark in there. Lighting was done by flashlight!
Why not put oil in the transmission? Too early to hurt things now! Should make it sound better too!

Keep in mind that there is no oil in the transmission.
