  • Dude! This is ridiculous, I thought it was photoshopped until the video at the end. I'm 41 and 297. I've been doing the circuit and elliptical, but I'd like to step up the weight lifting. How much time per week does this program take?

  • It takes about an hour a day....6 days a week. Well worth the time.

    You can do it with 15s but you will need heavier ones for certain exercises especially after the first month. good luck.

  • as a strengh and conditioning coach, i can assure P90X works. i did it, and i still did it.

    its over the time of the old school bodybuilding, with bench press, deadlift and all other bodybuilding way. (those are good exercices but..)

    if you try P90X, you will never work out like this before. some one told some thing very true, P90X is a way of life, and Tony Horton is a great and very wise man, who created a complete workout to help people to getthe best shape of their life

    What are the size of those weights in the end? That looks CRAZY! I have two 25's and my stamina with that aren't that great. I usually drop it down to two twenties or fifteens.

  • Nice job! I am getting great results with P90X. I think diet is at least 50% of the deal if you want to get ripped like Dr E. I'm on my 8th week, time to get serious with the diet.

  • Thanks....just stick with it and follow the Nutritional plan. If your goal is to lose weight, then really minmize the carbs in the first month. 13 weeks is a long time so don't be discouraged after just 3. Keep pressing play!

  • @webmasterd yea dont give up, drelkin is right about the carbs, try also adding 1 or 2 cups of green tea a day to speed up you metabolism.

  • @GlobeNinja Well I'm on my way to a second round of p90x and Insanity as well. And I've dropped weight and hell of a lot less flabby.  So yeah.. I was just impatient. Still working hard and now that I'm in better shape I can do a lot more. Thx for the encouragement. Oh yeah.. and I have added green tea to my diet =)

  • I was really strict with my nutrition for 3 months. I did follow the nutrition guide very closely. If you are going to do it just stick with it...the first couple of weeks will feel painful but after that you will start seeing visible results and that is very motivating.

  • Truly inspirational results. I decided to start with Power 90, but I plan to move onto P90X soon as I complete the regimen. These videos of people doing the program also help alot. Keep posting guys.

  • many people are really out of shape, have no idea what exercise is and have no clue where to start.

    it's hardly a gimmik to build a workout routine and make it available for people that are too intimidated or poor to go to the gym along with a personal trainer and nuitritionist.

    if they were selling a get fit pill i'd have to agree that it's a gimmik, but there is content here and a large support base that helps people who purchase their product...it's also hard to argue with the results.

  • Everyone who has done even a session with this program laughs at the word "gimmick". If we live in a gimmick ridden nation which also happens to be the fattest, what's the dag-on criticism for exactly? You obviously viewed the video because you're health is important to you. They don't sell a contraption. They just hand your ass to you for an hour each day. Where's the gimmick in that?

    Heres the condensed version;

    #1 clean up your eating 6 small meals a day (axe the junk food)

    #2 supplement your protein

    #3. Do some basic body building movements ( nothing magic really!)

    #4. Do some cardio vascular exercise 3 to 4 times a week.

    #5. practise consistency (the most important)

    Voila!!! your fit!!

  • I have to say that I agree with your suggestions for nutrition and basic exercise. This will work for the average couch potatoe.

    However, you have obviously never attempted P90X because anyone who has completed the 90 days will agree that this is the toughest workout program they have ever done...."gimmick" is an insult. As a doctor, I have never seen a more comprehensive workout program.

    Do yourself a favour......just try it and see how your attitude changes when you see the results.

  • is it ok to cycle your calories??... Ive read that you need to eat let say 3 days below your maintenance level (500) and then the fourth day eat more let say 500 calories more so your body won't get used to the estrict diet.

  • When the novelty of this product wears off, we're gonna be right back where we started, in front of the T.V. looking for a new idea to get us excited about exercising again. It's a misdirected cleverly merchandised gimmick (sorry) designed to pray upon those who cannot find the self discipline to get off their asses, clean up their eating and get fit!! The P90X is no substitude for lack of motivation consistency and self discipline. Fitness is a life long study it does not come in a dvd!!

  • Where do you live exactly?OF COURSE THIS IS A SUBSTITUTE for lack of motivation and consistency.If it was not for these programs many people would never get excited and decide to take action. thats the whole point of a program.Not allot of people know how to make a proper workout regiment. This program helps those people have an AMAZING one.They still say 75% diet and 25% workout even in p90X. but you can rest easy at the end of 90 days knowing you worked your entire body and are in GREAT shape.

  • and of course they will come out with new things. Everyone gets bored. For people who only have 10 min a day they have 10 min trainer and it works amazingly well. They have many other programs but when it comes down to it all you have to do is pick one and then do it consistently while maintaining a good diet and BAM, your sexy.

  • While that is true, there are many people that understand that through the P90X. You can't do nothing and expect to be strong. No one is strong doing nothing their life. P90X is more of the building block towards a life of fitness.

  • I hope to start the program soon. I'm prepping right now, trying to get used to a better diet and also doing pushups and situps every day. Any pointers you might give all your viewers, myself included? Great results by the way. As a side note, Great choice in music, WWE and Edge both rock, hardcore.

  • Great results. I COMPLETELY agree with your comments about the importance and impact of good basic nutrition. Everybody wants a magic pill. There just isn't one. Good nutrition and high intensity workouts are the key. Way to bring it man. Very inspirational video!

  • Recovery is like Gatorade... it's just their version.

  • I never used a recovery drink. Its a little more than Gatorade because it contains Creatine. You need to be careful when you start taking Creatine....there are many side-effects. Water and good nutrition works best.

  • My boys are doing this at ages 10 and 12. The resistance is just many reps with light weights with alot of Plyo and Kenpo....they love it and you can visibly see results in their muscle definition.

  • my little brother also started on this program and it's been 2 weeks and he has lost 5 pounds..... Due the fact that little boys don't follow a diet..I think he has gotten great results....P 90 x works, no doubt about it.

  • Hi, thanks for the kind words. I did take Chromium and Apple Cider vinegar to help with mobilizing fat stores, and had 2 protein shakes a day.

    I just measured my body fat on a Tanita scale and it recorded a 2% BF. That is the lowest I have ever been.
